  • Atlanta exercised Acuna's $17 million club option for the 2027 season Thursday.

Acuna has been playing on one of the most team-friendly contracts in baseball since 2019, and although his .255/.345/.451 regular-season slash line was a bit of a step back from 2025, Atlanta has no interest in parting with its franchise superstar. The 28-year-old missed nearly seven weeks in the middle of the summer due to a hamstring strain and dealt with knee soreness during the postseason, but assuming he comes back fully healthy in 2027, he will remain among the top tier of fantasy performers.

  • Acuna is starting in right field and batting second in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Dodgers on Wednesday. He underwent an MRI on his right knee after Tuesday's NLDS Game 3 loss to the Dodgers, which came back negative, Jesus Cano of The Athletic reports.

Acuna experienced lingering soreness in the knee after tweaking it on a stolen base in Sunday's Game 2 win for Atlanta. He was deployed at designated hitter in Game 3, but Acuna is back in right field for Game 4 after imaging returned clean. Drake Baldwin will slot in at DH on Wednesday, while Sean Murphy will do the catching.

  • Acuna is starting at designated hitter rather than in right field in Tuesday's ALDS Game 3 versus the Dodgers due to a sore right knee, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Acuna remains sore after banging up his knee on a slide Sunday in Game 2, so Atlanta will ease the stress on him a bit by inserting him into the DH slot. Lane Thomas will patrol right field for Atlanta. Acuna is 2-for-9 with two runs scored and a stolen base in the first two games of the series.

  • Acuna is not in the lineup for Sunday's game in Miami.

Sunday's regular-season finale doesn't mean anything for Atlanta as far as the postseason goes, so Acuna will get a little rest. Brewer Hicklen will patrol right field and bat eighth.

  • Acuna (leg) will start in right field and will bat second in Thursday's game against the Reds.

Acuna exited Tuesday's contest after fouling a ball off his left leg and didn't play Wednesday, but he's ready to roll for Thursday's series finale. The 28-year-old outfielder is sporting a 1.072 OPS with seven home runs in 19 games this month.

  • Acuna (leg) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Acuna was removed from Tuesday's contest after fouling a ball off his left leg. X-rays were negative and Acuna informed the club that he was fine to play Wednesday, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com. However, with the National League East already wrapped up, Atlanta will rest its star outfielder for a day just to be safe. Brewer Hicklen will cover right field Wednesday in Acuna's stead.
