  • Lowder (7-12) picked up the win Saturday, allowing three hits and two walks over six scoreless innings in a 5-1 victory over the Blue Jays. He struck out two.

In his final start of 2026, Lowder put together one of his best performances, tossing 50 of 79 pitches for strikes en route to his seventh quality start of the year and first since Aug. 22. The right-hander ends the season with a lackluster 5.74 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 103:56 K:BB in 133.1 innings, but with Hunter Greene (elbow) likely out until 2028, there could be a spot for Lowder in the Reds rotation next year depending on the team's offseason moves.

  • Lowder (6-12) took the loss Sunday against the Cubs, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks across three innings. He struck out three.

It's been a tough finish to the season for Lowder, who's given up 21 runs across just 15.1 innings in his last three starts. His ERA is up to 6.01 through 127.1 innings with a 1.55 WHIP and 101:54 K:BB this season. Lowder will likely get one more chance to end his season on a high note. He's currently in line to face the Blue Jays on the road next weekend.

  • Lowder (6-11) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over five innings as the Reds fell 4-0 to the Dodgers. He struck out four.

The right-hander didn't pitch badly, but he had no margin for error with Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the LA bullpen combining for a three-hit shutout. Lowder has lost all three of his September starts, stumbling to an 11.68 ERA, 2.11 WHIP and 10:8 K:BB over 12.1 innings on the month. He'll try to right the ship in his next outing, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Cubs.

  • Lowder (6-10) allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over 3.1 innings to take the loss versus the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Lowder gave up five extra-base hits (four doubles and a home run) during his short start. He looks to be running out of steam late in the season, having given up 25 runs (23 earned) across 25 innings over his last five games. Lowder is at a 5.81 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 94:49 K:BB across 119.1 innings through 26 outings (23 starts) this year. He is tentatively projected for a home rematch versus the Dodgers next week.

  • Lowder (6-9) took the loss Friday, coughing up seven runs (six earned) on six hits and four walks over four-plus innings as the Reds fell 10-7 to the Brewers. He struck out two.

The right-hander wobbled early but still headed into the fifth inning with Cincinnati holding a 6-4 lead, but Lowder got the hook after the first three batters in the frame reached base, and he had to watch all three come around to score. While he didn't serve up any homers for the first time since July 24, Lowder still got hit hard as half the hits off him went for extra bases. Over nine outings since the All-Star break, he's stumbled to a 6.22 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 31:12 K:BB in 46.1 innings, but the Reds seem content to let him continue taking a regular turn to close out the campaign. Lowder is scheduled to make his next start on the road next week against the Dodgers.

  • Lowder (6-8) picked up the win Friday, giving up three runs on six hits over five innings in a 10-8 victory over the Cubs. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Chicago grabbed a 3-0 lead after Michael Busch launched a two-run shot off Lowder in the third inning, but the right-hander held on long enough for Cincinnati's offense to come roaring back and take the lead for good in the top of the sixth. Lowder has worked at least five innings in seven straight starts, going 3-1 over that span with a 4.05 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB in 40 innings. He'll look to build on this effort in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Padres.
