  • The Tigers activated Meadows (arm) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Meadows was close to returning at the end of the season, but there wasn't enough time left for him to make it back after he began a hitting progression in September. He should be in store for a mostly normal offseason after suffering a radial fracture in his left forearm back in April.

  • The Tigers announced Sept. 18 that Meadows (arm) has been taking part in a hitting progression at the team's spring training facility in Florida, MLB.com reports.

Meadows doesn't appear to be a realistic candidate to return from the 60-day injured list for the Tigers' final series of the season, but he could be in store for something close to a normal offseason. The 26-year-old outfielder slashed just .250/.308/.333 with three stolen bases, three runs and two RBI over 39 plate appearances with Detroit before hitting the shelf after sustaining a fractured left radius bone in his left arm and concussion during an on-field collision April 9.

  • Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Tuesday that Meadows (forearm) has yet to resume hitting and is without a timeline to return from the 60-day injured list, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Meadows has been on the shelf since undergoing surgery April 13 to repair a radial fracture in his left forearm, which he sustained in a collision in the outfield. The 26-year-old appears to have made a full recovery from the concussion and mouth laceration that he also suffered during the incident, but due to the complex nature of his surgery, he remains limited to doing daily rehab while he waits for the fracture to heal. While Hinch indicated that Meadows hasn't hit any setbacks in the recovery process, a target date for the outfielder's return is unlikely to come into focus until he's able to take part in a full range of baseball activities.

  • Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that Meadows underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a left radius fracture and will be sidelined "multiple months," Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Meadows is also recovering from a concussion. He's already been moved to the 60-day injured list, and there remains no clear timetable for his return at this point. Javier Baez has seen more action in center field since Meadows went down, and Matt Vierling and Wenceel Perez have also experienced an elevated role.

  • The Tigers transferred Meadows (arm/concussion) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of waiver claim Yoniel Curet. Meadows suffered a fractured left arm and a concussion as a result of a collision in the outfield with teammate Riley Greene last week and won't be eligible to return until June 9.

  • The Tigers placed Meadows on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left radius fracture and a concussion.

It had been reported previously that Meadows suffered a concussion as a result of his collision in the outfield with Riley Greene on Thursday in Minnesota, and Meadows has now been diagnosed with a fractured arm, as well. It will be a lengthy absence for Meadows, though the Tigers haven't offered up a specific timetable. Wenceel Perez has been recalled to take Meadows' roster spot and should see starts in center field, along with Matt Vierling and perhaps Javier Baez.
