The White Sox released Bido on Tuesday.
Bido was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte last week after clearing waivers, but he never wound up pitching for the affiliate and is now pursuing a contract with a Japanese team, per Brooke Fletcher of Chicago Sports Network. The veteran swingman has posted a 6.27 ERA and 11:10 K:BB over 18.2 innings at the major-league level in 2026.

The White Sox outrighted Bido to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.
Bido cleared waivers after being designated for assignment Friday and appears poised to stick around in the organization as a swingman depth at the Triple-A level. Between big-league stops with Atlanta and Chicago this season, the 30-year-old right-hander delivered a 6.27 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 11:10 K:BB over 18.2 innings in 11 appearances out of the bullpen.

Bido pitched 2.1 scoreless innings Wednesday against the Angels, but has now lost his place on the 26-man and 40-man rosters. This is the second time the 30-year-old has been DFA'd this season, as he was also cut loose by Atlanta in mid-April.

The White Sox claimed Bido off waivers from Atlanta on Saturday.
Bido will join the White Sox's organization after he was designated by Atlanta for assignment Thursday. He gave up three earned runs in each of his two outings prior to being DFA'd, and on the season he has a 6.30 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 10 innings. To make room on the 40-man roster for Bido, the White Sox transferred Prelander Berroa (elbow) to the 60-day injured list.

Bido earned a save against the Diamondbacks on Thursday by pitching the final three innings, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out three batters.
Atlanta carried a 12-1 lead into the seventh inning, and Bido was tasked with finishing off the contest without allowing any drama. He did just that, giving up a run in the ninth frame but overall keeping Arizona at arm's length. Bido was rewarded for his efforts with a three-inning save -- the second save of his MLB career. The right-hander is tabbed for work in middle and long relief this season, so additional save chances will likely be very scarce or non-existent for him.
