McLean (12-10) earned the win Wednesday against the Rangers after allowing two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out five over seven innings.
McLean allowed just one hit in the first four innings before the Rangers scored twice in the fifth. However, McLean responded by retiring Texas in order in both the sixth and seventh, keeping the game level until Marcus Semien's go-ahead homer in the eighth. The 2026 season was a disaster for the Mets, and while McLean also endured some occasional struggles, he ended the year on a strong note. He allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his final eight starts, posting a 2.20 ERA with a 38:22 K:BB across 49 innings over that span. On the season, McLean went 12-10 with a 3.16 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 31 starts and 179.2 frames.

McLean (11-9) took the loss against the Yankees on Friday, allowing five runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out five across five innings.
McLean entered Friday's game having allowed two runs or less in each of his five prior outings. He couldn't replicate that success against the Yankees, with four of the five runs he gave up coming from home runs to Cody Bellinger and Ben Rice in the second and fifth innings, respectively. The 10 hits allowed were a career worst for McLean, and he now sports a 3.24 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 184:66 K:BB over 166.2 innings this season. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is lined up for next week at home against the Phillies.

He'll carry a 3.06 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 172:61 K:BB across 155.2 innings this season into a home matchup with the Giants next weekend.

He'll be aiming to further improve on his 3.21 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 168:58 K:BB over 148.2 innings for the campaign in his next scheduled appearance, which is set to come at home versus the Astros.
