Amaya went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Pirates.
Making the start in place of Carson Kelly, Amaya delivered his sixth home run of the season in the fifth inning with a runner on. Kelly ultimately appeared as a pinch hitter, and he's clearly been Chicago's top catcher this year, which limits Amaya's fantasy upside. As it stands, the 27-year-old is best used as a daily option on days when he does find himself in the lineup, but his role is otherwise too small to generate much value in standard formats.

Amaya is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.
Amaya finds himself on the bench for the third time in four games while the Cubs' timeshare at catcher has tilted more in favor of Carson Kelly of late. Since tying a season high with three RBI in an Aug. 9 win over the Royals, Amaya has gone 2-for-16 with a solo home run and a 2:6 BB:K in his subsequent six games.

Amaya is not in the Cubs' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday.
Amaya will get a breather for Friday's series opener while Carson Kelly starts behind home plate and bats ninth while forming a battery with southpaw Matthew Boyd. Amaya has gone 5-for-25 with two home runs and four RBI across 10 games in August.

Amaya is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.
Amaya has seen his playing time tick up in the second half and entered play Wednesday having started behind the plate in four of the Cubs' last six contests. However, it will be Carson Kelly doing the catching as the Cubs try to finish off the sweep.

Amaya went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 11-4 loss to the Cardinals.
Amaya has homered twice over his last four games, going 4-for-14 in that span. The catcher has started three of the Cubs' last four contests as he starts to take a chunk out of Carson Kelly's playing time versus right-handed pitchers. On the year, Amaya is batting .241 with a .726 OPS, five homers, 22 RBI, 30 runs scored and nine doubles over 203 plate appearances.

Amaya will start at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Amaya will crack the lineup for the third time in four games, with each of those starts coming against right-handed pitching. He's produced a .720 OPS and 105 wRC+ in 138 plate appearances versus righties this season, putting him well ahead of what fellow backstop Carson Kelly (.594 OPS, 72 wRC+ in 211 plate appearances) has done in that split.
