Latest news

  • McGreevy didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Brewers after allowing four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out two over 4.2 innings.

McGreevy struggled to keep Milwaukee off the bases before departing with two outs in the fifth, and while Milwaukee jumped to a 4-1 lead, the Cardinals later erased the early deficit. McGreevy closed the season with some ups and downs, but he went undefeated in his last 10 starts, going 3-0 with a 4.78 ERA across 52.2 innings. For the season, the third-year hurler posted career-high marks in innings pitched (168.2), starts (31) and ERA (3.95), among several other categories.

  • McGreevy didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Nationals after allowing two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out one over four innings.

McGreevy fell behind immediately, allowing a leadoff single to James Wood before Daylen Lile launched a two-run homer to center field. The right-hander kept Washington scoreless over his next three frames, but he had to labor through them and was lifted after only four innings after throwing 88 pitches (56 strikes). McGreevy, who has a 3.84 ERA across 30 starts and 164 innings in 2026 and has not taken a loss since July 28, is expected to make his final start of the season Friday on the road against the Brewers.

  • McGreevy (7-9) earned the win Sunday over the White Sox, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out six.

McGreevy turned in another strong start Sunday, as he held the White Sox to a lone second-inning run. The right-hander has now turned in back-to-back quality starts, allowing just three earned runs across 12.2 innings in that span, after giving up 11 runs in 10 innings in his prior two outings. McGreevy's ERA now sits at 3.83 across 29 starts (160 innings) this season with a 1.24 WHIP and 112:45 K:BB. He's currently lined up to face the Nationals at home his next time out.

  • McGreevy allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four over 6.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Monday.

McGreevy remains unbeaten over his last seven outings, though this was just his second quality start in that span. The right-hander is now at a 3.92 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 106:42 K:BB through 154 innings over 28 starts. The uneven performances lately make it tough to count on McGreevy to pitch well enough to earn wins down the stretch.

  • McGreevy (6-9) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings to earn the win over the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Mookie Betts drove in four runs on a pair of doubles off McGreevy, but the Cardinals' offense carried the right-hander. With 20 runs allowed (17 earned) over his last 27 innings, McGreevy is showing some wear and tear down the stretch, but he's managed to pick up two wins in that five-start span. Overall, he has a 3.97 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 102:40 K:BB through 147.1 innings over 27 starts. McGreevy is lined up to make his next start at Colorado.

  • McGreevy allowed seven runs on 10 hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out three over five innings in a no-decision versus the Orioles on Wednesday.

McGreevy struggled immediately after the All-Star break, but he looked to be back on track in August until this outing. He allowed all seven runs in the first two innings, matching his season high for runs allowed in a start. The 26-year-old is now at a 3.86 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 98:38 K:BB through 142.1 innings over 26 starts this season. McGreevy is a risky fantasy option for his next start, which is projected to be on the road versus the Dodgers.
