Kelly worked with a four-run lead after the first inning and kept Colorado from completing a comeback, allowing an RBI double to Adael Amador in the second and a Hunter Goodman sacrifice fly in the third. The veteran has struggled with consistency in recent weeks, and he's allowed three or more earned runs in six of his last 10 starts. He closes out the regular season with a 4.94 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 113:70 K:BB across 29 starts and 162 innings.

Kelly gave up a pair of runs in both of the second and third innings. He exited at 91 pitches (61 strikes) while falling short of the five-inning mark for the second start in a row. The veteran right-hander is now at a 5.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 111:69 K:BB through 28 starts this season. This was his 200th career start in the majors. Kelly is projected to make a start in Colorado next week, which may be his last of the campaign.

Kelly needed 80 pitches (48 strikes) to get through this start, with Joc Pederson's RBI double ending the right-hander's outing. The short outing kept Kelly from a third straight quality start. The 37-year-old has pitched to a 4.97 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 102:67 K:BB across 152 innings over 27 starts this season. Kelly's next start is tentatively projected to come at home versus the Yankees, but he could be moved up to face the Marlins instead if the Diamondbacks opt to piggyback Zac Gallen and Michael Soroka again.

He's produced back-to-back quality starts, but the command issues have hurt him a bit since he owns a 5.13 ERA and 1.41 WHIP over that six-game stretch.
