  • Liberatore (6-14) gave up one run on six hits and no walks while striking out six over 5.2 innings to earn the win Wednesday versus the Pirates.

Liberatore picked up his first victory since July 11, which came against Atlanta just before the All-Star break. During the winless stretch, the left-hander tossed 61.1 innings with a 5.58 ERA and 1.45 WHIP with eight losses in 11 outings. The 26-year-old pitched great Wednesday in Pittsburgh, with the only damage against him coming via a solo homer by Brandon Lowe. It was Liberatore's final start of the campaign, and he'll end 2026 with a disappointing 5.23 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 154:55 K:BB across 155 innings.

  • Liberatore didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants, allowing one run on six hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out two.

The left-hander tossed 51 of 81 pitches for strikes en route to his seventh quality start of the season, but he exited the mound in line for his 15th loss with the Cardinals down 1-0 before the two bullpens took turns making a mess. It's just the second time in his last eight outings that Liberatore has lasted six innings, a bumpy stretch that's seen him post a 6.42 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 41:14 K:BB through 40.2 innings. He'll look to wrap up his regular season on a high note on the road next week in Pittsburgh.

  • Liberatore didn't factor into the decision Friday against the White Sox after allowing two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two over 4.1 innings.

Liberatore gave up two homers to Chase Meidroth, who went yard on the first pitch of the game before going deep again in the third inning. Liberatore limited the damage, however, and despite lasting just 4.1 innings, he managed to snap a negative run of four consecutive starts allowing at least three earned runs. Liberatore has been slumping badly since the All-Star break, posting a 6.52 ERA and 1.49 WHIP across 49.2 innings and 10 starts, and there are very few positives to highlight from his recent performances. He's scheduled to make his next start at home against the Giants.

  • Liberatore (5-14) allowed five runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three over 4.1 innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Rockies.

Liberatore avoided giving up a home run for the first time in four starts, but shaky defense in the fifth inning ultimately brought his start to an early end. He's lost six straight starts and eight of his last nine, posting a 6.75 ERA over 45.1 innings since the All-Star break. On the year, he has a 5.57 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 144:49 K:BB through 139 innings over 28 starts. Liberatore is lined up to make his next start at home versus the White Sox.

  • Liberatore (5-13) allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out nine over 5.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Pirates.

The long ball was a problem again -- Esmerlyn Valdez hit a two-run homer in the second inning, and Jared Triolo added a solo shot in the fifth. Liberatore has allowed multiple homers in consecutive starts and has given up eight homers in as many starts since the All-Star break. In that span, he's also surrendered 30 runs (29 earned) over 41 innings. Liberatore is having a disappointing campaign with a 5.41 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 141:47 K:BB across 134.2 innings over 27 starts. He's projected for a road start in Colorado in his next outing, which is one fantasy managers should probably avoid.

  • Liberatore (5-12) took the loss Tuesday against the Orioles, allowing eight runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out seven over four innings.

Liberatore started strong with four strikeouts over the first two innings before Baltimore broke through in the third, with home runs from Pete Alonso and Christian Encarnacion-Strand accounting for four runs. The Orioles erupted for eight runs in the fifth, although only four were charged to Liberatore, giving them an insurmountable lead. The left-hander has now taken the loss in six of his last seven starts, though his strikeout production remains a bright spot, as he's recorded 44 punchouts across 35.1 innings during that stretch. Liberatore will seek to put Tuesday's outing behind him and turn things around in his next scheduled start Sunday against the Pirates.
