Weaver revealed Wednesday that he's been dealing with a severe poison ivy rash for more than three weeks that's made it difficult for him to sleep, Jose Negron of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
The issue has not sidelined Weaver at any point, but he admitted that it's probably affected his performance. After collecting a 1.84 ERA and 45:11 K:BB in 44 frames for the Mets, Weaver holds a 5.79 ERA and 11:4 K:BB over 9.1 innings since being dealt to the Pirates. Weaver also had a sinus cold recently, but he will be available out of the bullpen Friday versus the Angels.

The Pirates acquired Weaver and cash considerations from the Mets on Monday in exchange for shortstop Sammy Stafura, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
Weaver receives a potentially big boost in fantasy value with a move to Pittsburgh, where he could be the favorite to serve as the Pirates' closer. The righty reliever has posted a 1.84 ERA and 45:11 K:BB over 44 innings this season for the Mets. Weaver is under contract for 2027 as well, with a salary of $12.5 million.

Weaver picked up the save in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning win over Atlanta. He allowed one unearned run on a hit and two walks with a strikeout over one inning.
With closer Devin Williams having blown the initial save in the ninth inning, Weaver was called upon to pitch with a two-run lead in the 10th frame. The 32-year-old allowed the automatic runner at second base to score and loaded the bases with two outs but got Mauricio Dubon to ground out to secure the victory for the Mets. It marked Weaver's first successful save in three opportunities this season, though he has otherwise excelled in a setup role with a 1.89 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, 42:11 K:BB and 11 holds across 38 innings.
