  • Campusano is not in the lineup Tuesday for Game 3 of the NLDS versus the Brewers.

Campusano started at designated hitter in Game 1 and at catcher in Game 2, reaching base twice in both contests. However, he will begin Tuesday's festivities on the bench. The Padres will roll out Ethan Salas at catcher and Gavin Sheets at DH as they try to stave off elimination.

  • Campusano is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against Miami.

After going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts during Thursday's series finale against Colorado, Campusano will rest for Friday's series opener against the Marlins. Manny Machado will slot in as the designated hitter, while Ethan Salas will catch and bat ninth for San Diego.

  • Campusano is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Campusano will get a breather after going 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 9-3 loss to Colorado. Fernando Tatis will serve as the Padres' designated hitter Wednesday while Ethan Salas starts behind home plate and bats ninth.

  • Campusano went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Rockies.

Campusano is up to eight homers on the year, including three over his last 11 games. The catcher went yard in the second inning of Tuesday's contest to give the Padres an early 2-0 lead. Overall, Campusano has maintained a .273 average and .823 OPS with 29 RBI, 22 runs scored, 12 doubles and no stolen bases across 228 plate appearances this season.

  • Campusano went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.

Campusano took Gerrit Cole deep for a 343-foot long ball to lead off the seventh inning and give the Padres a 4-0 lead. The 27-year-old backstop has started the past four games -- two at catcher, two at designated hitter -- and has gone 4-for-14 with two home runs during that stretch. So long as he continues to swing a hot bat, Campusano should have a fairly clear path to steady playing time.
