  • Gilbert walked one over four-plus scoreless and hitless innings while striking out eight in a no-decision versus the Angels on Sunday.

The Mariners clearly didn't want to push Gilbert too much in a meaningless game, pulling him after he walked Moises Ballesteros to open the fifth inning, ending his chance at a perfect game. Gilbert managed just six scoreless outings this season, and only two of them came after the All-Star break as he labored down the stretch. He ends 2026 with a 12-11 record, 3.73 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 205:49 K:BB through 186 innings over 32 starts.

  • Gilbert (12-11) allowed four runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out three over four innings, taking the loss versus the Astros on Tuesday.

Gilbert had another unimpressive home performance Tuesday. He's allowed 14 runs over 15.2 innings across three home starts in September, and he's also lost four of his last five outings overall. The right-hander is at a 3.81 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 197:48 K:BB through 182 innings over 31 starts this season. He's tentatively projected for a home start versus the Angels over the weekend, but with the Mariners on the verge of elimination, it's not yet clear if he'll be asked to make that start.

  • Gilbert (12-10) allowed two runs on six hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out seven over six innings to take the loss versus the Angels on Tuesday.

Gilbert collected a second consecutive quality start with this performance. He gave up a solo home run to Josh Lowe, which was just the fourth homer he's allowed on the road this season, compared to 24 surrendered in Seattle. Gilbert is at a 3.69 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 194:46 K:BB through 178 innings over 30 starts. The right-hander is within striking distance of the 200-strikeout mark, and he now heads into next week's start at home versus the Astros.

  • Gilbert (12-9) earned the win over Texas on Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out 11 batters over seven innings.

A two-run homer by Joc Pederson accounted for the bulk of the scoring against Gilbert, and the right-hander was down 3-0 when he threw his final pitch in the top of the seventh frame. However, Seattle stormed back for four runs in the bottom of that inning, putting Gilbert in position for the win. It was a well-deserved victory, as Gilbert racked up 24 whiffs -- the second-most in his career -- and a season-high 11 punchouts. This was the second straight game in which the veteran hurler has recorded double-digit punchouts and his fourth such performance overall this season. Gilbert ranks eighth in the majors with 187 strikeouts on the campaign, and he'll look to get closer to reaching 200 punchouts for the second time in his career the next time he takes the mound, which lines up to be a road matchup versus the Angels.

  • Gilbert (11-9) allowed seven runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out 10 over 4.2 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Athletics.

With the way the ball was flying, it looked more like a game in Sacramento than Seattle. Gilbert fell apart in the third inning when he allowed four homers over a span of six batters, accounting for five of the runs on his line in his worst start of the year. The Athletics have been the only team to hold Gilbert under five innings this season, and they've done it twice in Seattle. Gilbert has a 3.71 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 176:42 K:BB through 165 innings over 28 starts this season. He'll look to bounce back at home versus the Rangers in his next start, though it's notable that Gilbert sports a 4.45 ERA at home compared to a 2.70 ERA on the road this year. He's also given up 26 homers this season, 23 of which have gone over the T-Mobile Park fences.

  • Gilbert (11-8) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out four.

Toronto got off to a fast start with a two-run first inning, but Gilbert was able to limit the damage the rest of the way. The workhorse right-hander has been as steady as any starting pitcher this season, working at least five innings in all but one of his 27 starts while giving up more than three runs on just five occasions. Gilbert is set to bring a 3.42 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 166:40 K:BB over 160.1 innings into a soft home matchup versus the division-rival Athletics.
