  • Fantasy baseball lineup advice for Saturday: Add Christian Scott for strikeouts

Everything you need to know to set your fantasy baseball lineups for Saturday's MLB action.

  • Montez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.

Montez launched what proved to be a 426-foot game-winning homer in the top of the ninth inning. The 21-year-old has struck out in 15 of his 35 major-league plate appearances, but he's still hitting .250 with four homers and 10 RBI so far in his short stint with the Mariners.

  • Montes went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Athletics.

Montes hasn't found a ton of consistency at the plate so far, batting .240 across his first nine big-league games. He has tapped into some power with three homers and a double among his six hits, giving him eight RBI and four runs scored as well. Montes topped 30 homers both this year and in 2025 in the minors as he's made a quick ascent to the majors. He'll be in contention to be the Mariners' starting right fielder in 2027, but he could end up in a platoon role if his strikeout rate remains excessively high.

  • Montes is not in Seattle's lineup against the Athletics on Friday.

With Jeffrey Springs toeing the slab for the A's, the left-handed-hitting Montes will ride the pine for Friday's series opener. Dominic Canzone will man right field and bat third for the Mariners.

  • Montes is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Since his promotion, the left-handed-hitting Montes has now been held out of the lineup all four times the Mariners have faced a lefty hurler. He did deal with a minor hip injury during that time, as well, but it seems clear the rookie will be used on the strong side of a platoon. Montes clubbed his second big-league home run in Tuesday's game, and he's 4-for-18 with a 1:9 BB:K in his first six games in the majors.

  • Montes went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Tuesday's 10-5 loss to the Rangers.

Making his return to the lineup after missing Seattle's previous two games with a hip injury, Montes cut the M's deficit to 4-3 in the fourth inning with a three-run blast off Cal Quantrill that traveled 474 feet, tied for the longest homer in the majors this season. After going 2-for-4 with a home run in his major-league debut Sept. 1, Montes had gone just 1-for-10 in his subsequent four contests. Still, the rookie should see regular playing time down the stretch in a strong-side platoon role.
