  • Wade went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Royals.

Wade took advantage of a rare start Thursday, with Christian Walker getting the day off. He extended the Astros' lead to 3-1 in the fifth inning with a 365-foot shot off Seth Lugo, his fourth this season and first since Aug. 30. Wade had gone just 2-for-14 in nine games coming into the contest. Overall, he's slashing .212/.316/.364 with 19 RBI 16 runs scored over 136 plate appearances this season.

  • Wade went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Mets.

Wade's sixth-inning homer was the difference in this contest after he pinch hit for Cam Smith. Filling a part-time role, Wade has gone 10-for-37 (.270) over 19 contests in August, including three extra-base hits and five RBI. He's batting .210 with a .681 OPS, three homers, 17 RBI, 14 runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases across 118 plate appearances in his first year with the Astros.

  • Wade is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Wade will take a seat after he started in left field in each of the Astros' last three games and went 1-for-10 with a double and a run scored. He'll give up his spot in the lineup to Taylor Trammell, who will man left and bat seventh.

  • Wade is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.

Wade will take a seat for a second straight matchup versus a right-handed starting pitcher (Shane Bieber) and appears headed for a role reduction after the Astros bolstered their outfield by acquiring Daulton Varsho from the Blue Jays on Monday. Varsho will enter the lineup right away Monday, covering center field while Taylor Trammell and Cam Smith flank him in the corner spots. Since being reinstated from the injured list July 4, Wade is batting just .167 with one home run, 10 RBI and eight runs in 20 games.

  • Wade is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Wade started in left field for the first two games of the series, going 2-for-5 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a run scored. He'll exit the lineup Sunday while Yordan Alvarez receives a turn in left field. Wade looks to have a hold on at least a semi-regular spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitching.

  • Wade isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Wade will miss out on the starting nine for a second consecutive game after going just 2-for-28 since the All-Star break. Taylor Trammell, Lucas Spence and Cam Smith will form Houston's outfield trio while Wade sits.
