  • Harrison is listed on the Brewers' roster for their National League Division Series against the Padres.

Harrison was at risk of missing out on the Brewers' postseason roster after giving up 25 runs (22 earned) in his final 12.1 regular-season innings, but the team seems to feel comfortable including him to presumably work out of the bullpen. The 25-year-old lefty looked sharper during his final regular-season outing against the Cardinals, tossing two scoreless innings while striking out four batters, but he still isn't likely to see high-leverage work in the playoffs.

  • Harrison struck out a batter and gave up a run on three hits and no walks over an inning of relief in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Phillies.

After giving up five runs (four earned) while failing to escape the second inning in a start versus the Pirates last Thursday, Harrison has made his last two appearances out of the bullpen. Harrison retired just one of the three batters he faced in a relief outing against the Orioles over the weekend, and his struggles continued during Tuesday's appearance. The southpaw had been pitching at an All-Star level during the first half of the season, but he's completely unraveled since returning to action Aug. 5 following a four-week stint on the injured list. Over his 10 appearances (seven starts) since being activated, Harrison owns a 7.80 ERA and 2.20 WHIP across 30 innings. Harrison's string of poor performances could put him at risk of being left off the Brewers' postseason roster.

  • Harrison (10-5) took the loss Thursday against the Pirates, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits and two walks over 1.2 innings. He struck out two.

Harrison's struggles continued in his return to the Brewers' rotation. After turning in a scoreless first inning, the southpaw imploded in the second as Pittsburgh put up a five spot. Harrison has now given up a staggering 21 earned runs across just nine frames in his last four appearances. His ERA is up to 4.25 through 112.1 innings this season with a 1.34 WHIP and 136:35 K:BB. Given his difficulties Thursday, Harrison figures to return to Milwaukee's bullpen down the stretch and may not be guaranteed a place on the postseason roster.

  • Harrison will start Thursday's game in Pittsburgh, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Harrison's last appearance came in relief last week, and he was charged with four runs without recording an out against the Reds. In his last five starts, the left-hander has logged a 6.95 ERA, 2.23 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB over 22 innings. Given those struggles, Harrison will not be guaranteed any more starts beyond Thursday.

  • Harrison failed to record an out and was charged with four earned runs on four hits in a relief appearance in Saturday's 13-9 win over the Reds.

After Harrison was lit up for 15 runs (13 earned) in his prior two starts, Brewers manager Pat Murphy elected to shift the left-hander to a relief role with the hope that the change would provide a needed reset. Though Harrison's velocity ticked back up Saturday, his command was still lacking, as he gave up a double and three base hits on 17 pitches before Murphy lifted him from the game. Per Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Murphy expressed optimism after the game that Harrison would be able to bounce back from his recent rough patch, but the southpaw's recent form makes it unlikely that he'll resurface in the rotation in the near future.

  • Manager Pat Murphy said that Harrison will be available out of the bullpen during Saturday's game against the Reds, Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920 Milwaukee reports.

Harrison was originally in line to start Saturday's contest, but Murphy said he believes moving the left-hander to the bullpen temporarily will help him get his confidence back after giving up 15 runs (13 earned) in just 7.1 innings over his last two starts. Shane Drohan will move up a spot in the rotation and fill in for Harrison as Milwaukee's starter Saturday.
