  • Hagenman struck out two and allowed one run on five hits and one walk over four innings of relief in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Nationals.

Called up from Triple-A Syracuse prior to Friday's contest, Hagenman was put to work right away out of the bullpen. The Mets had Jefry Yan cover the first 1.2 innings to open the contest, and then two other relievers were called upon to record four outs before Hagenman entered the game in the bottom of the fourth. The right-hander pitched effectively during his time on the mound, but since he entered the contest with a three-run deficit that proved insurmountable for the Mets, he wasn't able to scoop up a win. Given that he tossed 70 pitches Friday, Hagenman is unlikely to be available for the final two games of the season.

  • The Mets recalled Hagenman from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

Per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Hagenman will play a "siginificant role" in Friday's game versus the Nationals, though it's unclear whether it will be a traditional start or bulk-relief appearance. Hagenman has missed a large chunk of this season while recovering from a fractured rib. He has game highs of four innings and 64 pitches in 2026, so the Mets will need their bullpen Friday.

  • The Mets optioned Hagenman to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.

Hagenman had spent all season on the injured list while recovering from a fractured rib before he was activated last Wednesday. The 29-year-old righty made two appearances (one start) during his abbreviated stay with the Mets, giving up two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two batters across four innings. He'll give up his spot on the 28-man active roster to right-hander Jonah Tong, who was recalled from Triple-A ahead of his start Monday in Miami.

  • Hagenman allowed one run on one hit in one inning of relief in Saturday's 9-5 loss to the Giants.

After being activated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Hagenman got the start against the Rays, giving up just one run over three innings and tossing 46 pitches before being lifted. He shifted back to the bullpen this weekend, but Hagenman could be in the mix for another start Wednesday in Miami. Robert Stock would also appear to be a leading candidate for that assignment.

  • Hagenman allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out two across three innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Wednesday.

Wednesday was Hagenman's season debut for the Mets, with the 29-year-old right-hander starting the year on the injured list due to a fractured rib. He kept the Rays off the board through the first two innings before giving up an RBI single to Jonathan Aranda in the third. Hagenman tossed only 46 pitches (26 strikes), though that's not entirely surprising given his lengthy stint on the IL. He figures to shift to the bullpen in a long-relief role since Jonah Tong is expected to start for the Mets next week against the Marlins, per Mike Puma of the New York Post.

  • The Mets activated Hagenman (rib) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Hagenman will make a spot start Wednesday versus the Rays in what will be his season debut for the Mets. The right-hander has been shelved since spring training with a fractured rib, but he's pitched well in three rehab outings, yielding three runs (two earned) with a 9:1 K:BB over 9.1 innings. Hagenman tossed 64 pitches in his last appearance, so his workload will be truncated in Tampa Bay. He will likely work in long relief after Wednesday's start.
