  • De Paula is listed on the Dodgers' roster for the National League Division Series against Atlanta.

The 21-year-old outfielder spent time with the Dodgers near the end of the regular season while Shohei Ohtani was on the injured list. De Paula showed during his stint with the big club that his bat is already capable of handling MLB pitching, as he slashed .323/.500/.581 with a homer, a steal, seven RBI, seven runs scored an an 11:5 BB:K across 42 plate appearances. However, the Dodgers already have an abundance of firepower in their lineup, so De Paula will almost certainly be limited to a bench role during the NLDS.

  • The Dodgers optioned De Paula to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Noah Camras of SI.com reports.

De Paula dazzled during his first 11 games in the majors, slashing .323/.500/.581 with a home run, seven RBI, seven runs scored, a steal and an 11:5 BB:K across 42 plate appearances. However, with Shohei Ohtani (knee/biceps) returning from the injured list Wednesday, there is no room for the Dodgers' top prospect to get regular at-bats with the big club. That being said, De Paula could still be in play to contribute during Los Angeles' postseason run.

  • De Paula is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.

De Paula made five straight starts upon his promotion to the big leagues Friday, but the left-handed hitter will get a breather as the Reds hand the ball to southpaw Andrew Abbott. Alex Call is grabbing a start in De Paula's place, manning left field while Teoscar Hernandez starts at designated hitter.

  • De Paula is batting leadoff as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Reds, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

The 21-year-old has gone 2-for-9 with a double, a homer and a stolen base in four games since getting his first promotion to the big leagues Friday, and he'll now move atop the order for Los Angeles. It remains to be seen if this is a one-time lineup shakeup or a longer-term change, but De Paula seems likely to stick if he continues to produce at the plate -- at least until Shohei Ohtani (knee/biceps) is ready to return.
