  • Fantasy baseball lineup advice for Saturday: Add Christian Scott for strikeouts

Everything you need to know to set your fantasy baseball lineups for Saturday's MLB action.

  • The Cardinals placed Baez on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left oblique strain.

Baez was injured during Wednesday's game against the Giants, and subsequent testing revealed the strain. He will be eligible to return for the final game of the regular season, but the injury will almost surely end his campaign. It's an unfortunate conclusion to Baez's rookie season after he flashed both the good (seven home runs, .510 slugging percentage) and bad (30.6 percent strikeout rate) of his profile during his time in the majors.

  • Baez was removed from Wednesday's game against the Giants after the ninth inning due to left side tightness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Baez popped out in the bottom of the eighth inning and was lifted from the contest before the game went to extras. The Cardinals are considering the outfielder day-to-day for the time being, but it's unclear whether he will be sent for medical imaging. Baez was hitless in four trips to the plate Wednesday before exiting.

  • Baez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Baez has been getting extra days off lately, as this is the third time he's been absent from the lineup over the Cardinals' last seven contests. It's possible the club wants to ensure he retains rookie eligibility in 2027, and in order to do that, Baez must remain under 130 at-bats (he's currently at 96). Bryan Torres will play left field for St. Louis on Tuesday.

  • Baez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Baez started the previous three contests and will receive a day off after going 4-for-12 with three doubles, two RBI and three runs. Bryan Torres, Nathan Church and Jordan Walker will start across the outfield Sunday for St. Louis.

  • Baez isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Baez is currently enjoying a seven-game hitting streak, but the Cardinals will allow him to rest Tuesday while Bryan Torres starts in left field and Thomas Saggese covers second base.
