  • Quintana allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out three across three innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday.

Both of the home runs Quintana gave up came on solo homers by Brenton Doyle and Luisangel Acuna in the second and third frames, respectively. Quintana ran his pitch count up to 59 with 34 strikes and five whiffs, prompting Colorado to turn the keys to Ryan Feltner for the start of the fourth frame. It was still encouraging to see Quintana on the mound for the tail end of the 2026 regular season, seeing as he was sidelined by a sprained left elbow for nearly four months. He'll end the 2026 regular season with a 5.44 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 48 innings.

  • Quintana didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Mariners after allowing three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two over four innings.

The veteran left-hander made his first start since May 24 after missing nearly four months with a sprained pitching elbow. Quintana surrendered a two-run homer to Cal Raleigh in the first inning and a solo shot to Randy Arozarena in the third but otherwise kept Seattle off the board. Quintana exited with Colorado trailing 3-1, and the Rockies' bullpen followed with five scoreless frames as the team made a comeback. He's expected to make his final start of the season Friday on the road against the White Sox.

  • The Rockies reinstated Quintana (elbow) from the 60-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Saturday against the Mariners.

Quintana will return for his first big-league appearance since May 24 after recovering from a sprained left elbow. The veteran southpaw made nine starts for Colorado before going down, posting a 2-3 record with a 5.27 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 20:17 K:BB over 41 innings. He allowed three runs on five hits with one strikeout over 2.1 frames in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Albuquerque last Sunday.

  • The Rockies plan to activate Quintana (elbow) from the 60-day injured list to start Saturday's game against the Mariners in Colorado, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

After completing two rehab starts and checking out fine following his bullpen session Tuesday, Quintana has received the green light to make his first appearance for the Rockies since May 24. The veteran southpaw is likely to be operating with a limited workload Saturday, given that he built up to only 2.1 innings and 47 pitches during his rehab assignment. Prior to landing on the shelf due to a left elbow sprain, Quintana went 2-3 with a 5.27 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 41 innings in nine starts.

  • Quintana (elbow) struck out a batter and allowed three earned runs on five hits and no walks across 2.1 innings Sunday in a rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque.

Making the second appearance of his rehab assignment, Quintana tossed 47 pitches (32 strikes). The Rockies could have Quintana continue building up over one more rehab start before bringing him back from the 60-day injured list at some point during the final week of the season. Before hitting the shelf May 25 due to a left elbow sprain, Quintana went 2-3 with a 5.27 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over nine starts with Colorado.

  • Quintana (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Hartford on Wednesday, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.

Out since late May with a sprained left elbow, Quintana began his throwing program in early July and has finally reached the final stage in his rehab. The Rockies -- already eliminated from postseason contention -- likely won't be in much of a hurry to bring the veteran southpaw back, but he could still return in time to make another start or two before the end of the season.
