  • Loaisiga earned the save after allowing one hit and one walk over a scoreless ninth inning in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Rockies.

Loaisiga was handed a two-run lead and made things interesting before closing out Arizona's victory. Colorado eventually put runners at second and third with two outs, but the right-hander escaped without allowing either to score after retiring Ezequiel Tovar on a popout to first to end the game. The scoreless frame not only lowered Loaisiga's ERA to 2.22 and kept the Diamondbacks' slim playoff chances alive, but it also marked his sixth consecutive scoreless outing. Loaisiga has given up just two earned runs over the 17.2 innings covering his last 16 appearances, posting a pristine 0.51 ERA with a 11:1 K:BB over that stretch.

  • Loaisiga (shoulder) allowed one hit in a scoreless inning during Monday's 6-2 victory over the Giants.

Loaisiga hadn't appeared in a game since May 19 after dealing with right shoulder fatigue, but he was given the green light to handle the eighth inning Monday. He's been one of Arizona's more reliable bullpen arms lately, as he's posted seven straight scoreless outings (six innings).

  • Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo revealed Monday that Loasiga has been dealing with right shoulder fatigue, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Loasiga has not pitched since late Tuesday and it's unclear whether he's available out of the bullpen Monday in San Francisco, but Lovullo said he had "no concern" about the reliever. The 31-year-old is unscored upon in six outings this month, lowering his season ERA to 2.79.

  • Loaisiga was charged with a blown save Tuesday against the Mets, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one over one inning.

Loaisiga entered the eighth inning with a one-run lead but quickly ran into trouble, allowing a pair of singles to put runners at the corners before Jared Young lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home the tying run. The 31-year-old has now been charged with back-to-back blown saves after opening the season with four scoreless outings. Despite the recent struggles, Loaisiga still holds a respectable 2.84 ERA and should continue to see high-leverage opportunities alongside Paul Sewald, though potentially with a short leash moving forward.

  • Loaisiga blew a save chance, allowing one run on three hits while striking out one over one inning Sunday against Atlanta.

Loaisiga earned another save opportunity as he entered the ninth inning with a one-run lead but immediately ran into trouble, allowing three consecutive singles, including a game-tying RBI knock from Drake Baldwin. The 31-year-old managed to regroup from there, retiring the next three batters to send the game to extra innings. The run was Loaisiga's first allowed of the season across five appearances, but the flamethrowing righty should still be trusted in high-leverage situations despite the slip-up.

  • Loaisiga allowed two hits and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning while picking up the save Wednesday against the Tigers.

Closer Paul Sewald worked each of the last two days and three of the past four for the Diamondbacks, so he was perhaps unavailable for Wednesday's save chance. Loaisiga stepped up for his first save opportunity of the season, netting just his ninth career save, and the hard-throwing right-hander is at least in the mix for high-leverage work with 3.1 scoreless innings and a hold under his belt so far.
