  • The Blue Jays transferred Clase (foot) to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Clase has been on the injured list since July 22 due to left foot plantar fasciitis. His earliest eligibility to return is Sept. 20, which means there's a chance he will not make another big-league appearance in 2026. The outfielder was transferred to the 60-day injured list to make room on the 40-man roster for the signing of Michael Lorenzen.

  • The Blue Jays placed Clase on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to left foot plantar fasciitis.

Toronto called up Yohendrick Pinango from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move, and he'll take Clase's spot in left field and will bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Rays. According to Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca, Clase's foot issue first surfaced Tuesday, when he developed discomfort during pregame running work and was scratched from the lineup. Clase has a history of contending with plantar fasciitis, so it wouldn't be surprising if his stint on the IL last beyond the minimum 10 days.

  • Clase (foot) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Clase was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's contest due to foot discomfort, and the issue will now cause him to miss a second consecutive start. Yohendrick Pinango will start in left field and bat fifth while Clase recovers.

  • Clase was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay due to pain in his foot, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The severity of Clase's injury is still unknown, but it will prevent him from taking the field Tuesday. The Blue Jays should provide more information on his status in the near future; meanwhile, Myles Straw will fill in as Toronto's left fielder.

  • Clase is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

Clase will head to the bench Monday after he went 0-for-5 with a walk and three strikeouts while starting in two of the Blue Jays' three games against the White Sox over the weekend. Myles Straw will receive the nod in left field in the series opener, but Clase will likely rank as the Blue Jays' preferred option at the position until Jesus Sanchez (ankle) makes his return from the injured list.

  • Clase went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two walks and a second run scored in Saturday's 8-7 loss to the Padres.

Clase has two homers among his four hits over five games since joining the Blue Jays' big-league roster at the start of July, and he's added five RBI. Clase looks to be getting a chance at a starting role in left field -- he's started four straight games there, pushing Myles Straw into more of a reserve role. Clase is a switch hitter, so as long as his bat is hot, he should be able to avoid getting platooned, at least until Jesus Sanchez (ankle) is healthy again.
