  • The Mets placed Young on the 7-day concussion injured list Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Young's season is over after he had to be taken off the field on a stretcher in Thursday's game versus the Phillies after taking a knee to the head on a play at first base. He is dealing with concussion symptoms including short-term memory loss and bad headaches, but interim manager Andy Green said that Young is doing "as good as expected or could be hoped for."

  • Young (head) underwent a CT scan, which came back negative, following his departure from Thursday night's 3-0 loss to the Phillies, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Young was sent to the hospital after he was taken off the field on a stretcher following a collision with Nolan McLean near first base in the sixth inning. Young is dealing with concussion symptoms according to interim manager Andy Green, and his status for the remainder of the 2026 campaign is now in question.

  • Young was carted off the field in the sixth inning of Thursday night's contest against the Phillies due to an apparent head injury, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Young suffered the injury during a scary collision with starting pitcher Nolan McLean while trying to field a groundball with two outs in the top of the sixth. A stretcher was utilized to move him off the field, though he encouragingly gave a thumbs up as he was carted off. Mark Vientos replaced Young at first base, and more information on the latter's status will likely be provided following the conclusion of Thursday's contest.

  • Young went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored Saturday in a 12-2 victory over the Yankees.

Young capped the scoring in a big performance by the Mets' offense with his solo blast to right field in the ninth inning. It was his first homer since Aug. 14 -- a span of 24 games. Even during that power drought, Young swung the bat well, hitting .278 with 11 RBI and a 20.5 percent strikeout rate. He's at a .272/.333/.439 slash line on the season with nine homers, 45 runs, 38 RBI and three stolen bases through 98 contests.

  • Young is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Miami.

It's a rare day out of the lineup against a righty for Young, who is sporting a .794 OPS versus right-handed pitching this season. He will yield to Brett Baty at first base.
