  • Lopez (7-5) earned the win Friday against the Astros after allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings.

Lopez kept Houston off the scoreboard through three innings before Christian Walker launched a solo homer in the fourth, which proved to be the only damage against the left-hander. Lopez completed six innings with the Athletics still trailing 1-0, but Oakland's six-run rally in the bottom of the frame flipped the game and put him in position for the win. He needed 94 pitches to navigate his six frames, but most importantly, Lopez delivered a bounce-back performance in his final start of the campaign after he gave up 10 runs in just 2.2 frames against the Guardians on Sept. 19. Lopez nonetheless ends the regular season with career-worst marks in ERA (5.47) and WHIP (1.49) across 27 appearances (24 starts) and 123.1 innings.

  • Lopez (6-5) took the loss against the Guardians on Saturday, allowing 10 runs on 10 hits and no walks with one strikeout over 2.2 innings.

Lopez was jumped for two homers and five runs in the first inning before being charged with another five runs in the third. It was the highest run total the 28-year-old has ever allowed in a single start, and he's now yielded 19 earned runs over his past three outings. He'll take an inflated 5.68 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 108:56 K:BB across 117.1 innings this season into his final matchup of the campaign at home against the Astros next weekend.

  • Lopez did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks over 3.2 innings against the Mariners. He struck out three.

Lopez worked two scoreless frames before running into trouble in the third and fourth innings, departing at 102 pitches (63 strikes). While Sunday's showing was subpar, the southpaw has been much better in the second half, posting a 3.34 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 64:22 K:BB across 59.1 innings (11 starts) since the All-Star break. With an overall 6-4 record, 5.02 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 107:56 K:BB in 114.2 innings (25 appearances), Lopez is tentatively scheduled to make his next start Saturday against the Guardians.

  • Lopez allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out one over six-plus innings in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays on Monday.

Lopez had a quality start going, but he was left in too long and faded in the seventh inning. This marks the first time since July 7 where he's given more than two runs in an appearance. The 28-year-old southpaw is now at a 4.78 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 104:53 K:BB through 111 innings over 24 appearances (21 starts) this season. Lopez is projected to make his next start at home against the Mariners.

  • Lopez (6-4) picked up the win in Wednesday's 9-2 victory over the Rangers, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out seven.

The southpaw served up solo shots to Ezequiel Duran in the first inning and Justin Foscue in the second -- the first time Lopez has been taken deep multiple times since May 14 -- but he settled in after that and produced his fourth quality start of the season on 102 pitches (65 strikes). Lopez has been locked in for nearly two months, giving up two runs or fewer in 10 straight outings dating back to July 10 and delivering a 2.28 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 61:18 K:BB in 51.1 innings over that sparkling stretch. He'll look to tie his career high with his seventh win in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home early next week against the Blue Jays.
