  • Perkins (3-13) allowed six runs on five hits and three walks while striking out nine over five innings to take the loss versus the Astros on Saturday.

Perkins had largely put together a decent stretch run, but his season will end on a sour note. He gave up three home runs in this outing, accounting for all six of the runs on his line. Perkins ends 2026 with a 6.10 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 140:51 K:BB over 121 innings across 37 appearances (17 starts). He was a bit worse with a 6.75 ERA as a starter, though the fact he operated in a very hitter-friendly home park certainly didn't help his cause.

  • Perkins (3-12) took the loss against the Guardians on Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and no walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Perkins allowed just one run in the fourth inning but was outdueled by Gavin Williams. The 26-year-old Perkins threw 54 of 80 pitches for strikes with nine whiffs, and he's now delivered quality starts in back-to-back outings for the first time this season. He owns a 5.90 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 131:48 K:BB across 116 innings as both a reliever and starter this season and will make his final start of the campaign at home against the Astros next weekend.

  • Perkins didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Rays, allowing one unearned run on four hits and one walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out eight.

In his longest and best performance of the season, Perkins fired 53 of 83 pitches for strikes, and the only run to cross the plate against him came as the result of a passed ball by Jonah Heim, which let Chandler Simpson scamper home from third base. Perkins has had a rough season overall, but the 26-year-old right-hander is providing some optimism for 2027 -- over his last six outings, he's produced a 2.86 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 33:16 K:BB through 28.1 innings. He's scheduled to make his next start on the road this weekend in Cleveland.

  • Perkins (3-11) took the loss Tuesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks over five-plus innings in a 4-2 defeat against Toronto. He struck out three.

The right-hander was demoted to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday but was quickly recalled and ended up retaining his rotation spot due to J.T. Ginn's (elbow) move to the injured list. Perkins limited Toronto to two runs through five frames, but he returned for the sixth and allowed the first two batters to reach before being pulled, with both of them coming around to score. Despite the lackluster result, it's notable that the 26-year-old didn't issue any free passes given that he issued at least four walks in each of his previous three outings. Assuming Perkins and his 6.50 ERA though 98.1 innings stick in the rotation, he tentatively lines up to face the Rays on the road next week.

  • Perkins is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays in Sacramento.

Perkins was headed out of the big-league rotation after being optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday, but the Athletics recalled him one day later after starter J.T. Ginn (elbow) was moved to the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. He'll end up sliding into Ginn's spot in the rotation, but given his recent form along with the fact that he'll be pitching at hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park, Perkins won't make for a comfortable streaming option in the majority of fantasy leagues. Prior to his brief demotion, Perkins went 1-8 with a 6.91 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 83:40 K:BB in 70.1 innings over 13 starts and three bulk-relief appearances upon moving into the Athletics rotation in early June.

  • The Athletics recalled Perkins from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.

Perkins had just been optioned Friday, but he's back with the A's one day later as a result of J.T. Ginn (elbow) being placed on the 15-day injured list. Perkins may jump back into the team's rotation after starting in 13 of his first 33 appearances this season. The right-hander has a poor 6.50 ERA and 1.54 WHIP over 98.1 innings on the campaign, but he's been a little bit better of late and has logged a 2.70 ERA despite a 1.62 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB across his past four outings spanning 16.2 frames.
