Latest news

  • Rodriguez (5-8) allowed four runs on five hits and five walks while striking out two over five innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Thursday.

Rodriguez wasn't great, but he did enough to end his season on a winning note. However, the five walks were a season high, and he allowed 18 runs over 27 innings across his five starts in September. Rodriguez ends 2026 at a 6.02 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 85:43 K:BB through 98.2 innings over 20 starts, failing to revitalize his young career with a change of scenery this year.

  • Rodriguez (4-8) took the loss Friday against the Twins after allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out four without a walk over 6.2 innings. He also hit a batter.

Rodriguez settled down after allowing two runs in the first inning, keeping Minnesota off the board over his next five frames. However, he allowed another run when rookie Walker Jenkins homered in the seventh before Rodriguez departed with two outs. This was Rodriguez's first quality start since Aug. 20, when he earned a win over the Astros, but he's gone 0-3 with a 4.88 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP across 27.2 innings since then. He's expected to make his final start of the season Thursday on the road against the Mariners.

  • Rodriguez did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four across 5.1 innings.

Rodriguez was able to get out of a bases-loaded situation in the first inning without giving up a run. He kept the Nationals off the board until he was tagged for two runs in the sixth, but it was still a nice bounce-back performance from the 26-year-old right-hander, who had allowed nine runs in his two outings (spanning 10 innings) prior to Sunday. Rodriguez will take a 6.10 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 87 innings into his net start, tentatively slated for next weekend at home against the Twins.

  • Rodriguez (4-7) took the loss Monday against the Red Sox after allowing five runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three over four innings.

Rodriguez escaped a bases-loaded jam in the first but couldn't repeat the feat in the second. Jarren Duran opened the inning with a solo homer before Rodriguez surrendered a three-run shot to former Orioles teammate Adley Rutschman, putting the Angels in a 4-0 hole they'd never escape from. Rodriguez's ERA climbed to 6.28 after this outing, and he's given up at least three earned runs in four of his last six starts. The 26-year-old should remain a risky fantasy option and is slated to make his next start on the road against the Nationals this weekend.

  • Rodriguez (4-6) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Yankees.

Rodriguez gave up back-to-back home runs to Spencer Jones and Jazz Chisholm in the first inning. After that, Rodriguez put together a decent outing, but the damage was already done. This was his first loss in four starts, a span in which he's allowed 10 runs (eight earned) over 22.2 innings. Rodriguez now has a 6.03 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 72:33 K:BB through 77.2 innings over 16 starts this year. He'll remain a risky fantasy option with a road start in Boston projected for early next week.

  • Rodriguez didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Guardians, allowing a run on seven hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out four.

It was a strong outing from Rodriguez, who held Cleveland to just one run on a fifth-inning sacrifice fly. The 26-year-old right-hander has been sharp recently, giving up just one run over 12.2 frames in his last two starts. Rodriguez's ERA now sits at 6.03 through 15 starts (71.2 innings) this season with a 1.52 WHIP and 65:31 K:BB. He's currently in line to face the Yankees at home his next time out.
