  • Anderson (biceps) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Anderson went down with right biceps inflammation just last week, so it's a good sign that he's already been cleared to pitch in games again. The right-handed reliever is eligible for activation in one week and is tracking toward being ready at that time.

  • The Brewers placed Anderson on the 15-day injured list Monday due to right biceps inflammation, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Anderson has pitched well in his most recent stint in the majors, allowing two runs (one earned) with an 11:5 K:BB over 10.1 innings. However, he will now be out at least until the final week of the regular season. Brandon Sproat was called up from Triple-A Nashville to take Anderson's place in the bullpen.

  • The Brewers recalled Anderson from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Anderson was sent down to Triple-A on Aug. 5, but he's back with the big club to bolster its bullpen after Abner Uribe (forearm) was placed on the 15-day injured list. Anderson sports a 3.70 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and five holds across 48.2 innings in the majors this season.

  • Milwaukee optioned Anderson to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Anderson will give up his spot on the active roster to lefty Kyle Harrison (forearm), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Pirates. The 29-year-old righty has been serviceable out of the bullpen this season with a 3.70 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 41:18 K:BB through 48.2 innings, so he shouldn't have to wait long before getting another call-up to Milwaukee.

  • X-rays on Anderson's right forearm came back negative following his removal from Thursday's game against the Giants, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Anderson was pulled from the game after taking an 89.6-mph line drive off his right forearm in the seventh inning. He managed to escape the incident with nothing more than a bruise and will travel with the team for its upcoming road series in Colorado, but he could still be held out of action for a game or two to give his forearm a chance to recover.

  • Anderson was removed from Thursday's appearance versus the Giants in the seventh inning after being struck in the right forearm by a line drive, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Anderson had already thrown 30 pitches and allowed two runs over 1.1 innings before exiting, so his removal could have been precautionary. It's unclear whether the reliever will be sent for medical imaging, so he should be considered day-to-day until his status is updated.
