  • The Brewers declined their side of Sanchez's mutual option for 2027 on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Sanchez had a nice campaign as the Brewers' No. 2 catcher, posting a .771 OPS with 12 home runs during the regular season. It's unlikely the soon-to-be 34-year-old will be entrusted with a starting job anywhere, but Sanchez should draw interest as a second catcher and occasional designated hitter.

  • Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Cardinals.

Sanchez continued to see limited playing time in September, going 6-for-26 (.231) over 10 contests. He snapped a 10-game power drought with his third-inning homer, which proved to be the difference in the contest. Sanchez hit .209 with a .771 OPS, 12 homers, 38 RBI, 37 runs scored, 10 doubles and one triple over 275 plate appearances this season. He'll back up William Contreras at catcher during the postseason.

  • Sanchez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Rangers.

Sanchez got the start behind the plate Sunday with William Contreras receiving a rest day and provided Milwaukee with a two-run homer in the seventh inning. The long ball was a welcome sight for Sanchez, who entered the contest riding a 1-for-26 slump. He's slashing .207/.347/.429 with 11 homers, nine doubles, one triple, 34 RBI and 34 runs scored across 242 plate appearances this season.

  • Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI double in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Padres.

Sanchez opened the scoring in the second inning with a two-out, solo shot off Robbie Ray, his 10th long ball this season. Sanchez, who's gone 5-for-11 with two homers and two doubles in his last five games, got the start behind the plate Wednesday, though he's primarily been limited to starts against left-handed pitchers or pinch-hitting duties. Overall, Sanchez is slashing .230/.379/.473 across 206 plate appearances this year with 31 runs scored and 29 RBI.

  • Sanchez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.

After sitting six straight games, Sanchez got the start Thursday while William Contreras received a day of rest. The veteran catcher snapped a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning by taking Braxton Ashcraft deep for a solo home run. Sanchez added a single an inning later for his sixth multi-hit effort of the season. Since the beginning of July, he is batting 7-for-29 (.241) across 11 games. On the year, he owns a .223 batting average with an .818 OPS over 196 plate appearances.
