  • Moreno (hamstring) has been removed from Sunday's lineup against the Padres, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Moreno was initially slated to serve as the designated hitter for Sunday's must-win game. However, he has now been scratched due to a hamstring issue that cropped up Friday, though he could be available off the bench as a pinch hitter. Pavin Smith will now be the designated hitter, with Jordan Lawlar entering the lineup in center field while Tim Tawa moves to first base.

  • Moreno tweaked his hamstring during Saturday's 10-7 loss to the Padres, but he's expected to be in the lineup for Sunday's regular-season finale, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

The issue cropped up during Friday's game, but Moreno was in the lineup for Saturday's contest before being pinch hit for in the ninth frame. He received treatment for his hamstring following Saturday's loss, and it looks like the 26-year-old catcher will be in action for Sunday's game as the Diamondbacks make one final push toward a playoff berth. He went 1-for-3 with an RBI single prior to his exit.

  • Moreno went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-2 win over Colorado.

Moreno delivered one run on a single during the team's three-run first inning. He later had a sacrifice fly to knock in another. The two RBI put him at a career-high 77 over 126 games in what has been a breakout season for the 26-year-old catcher. Most of the breakout has happened during the second half, as Moreno sports a .312/.383/.529 slash line with nine home runs, 19 doubles and 45 RBI across 57 contests since the All-Star break.
