Tolman earned the save in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Mets, allowing a walk and one hit while striking out two over 1.1 innings.
Tolman quickly worked his way into a high-leverage role in Washington after making his MLB debut in late August. He'll finish the year with five saves, a 2.93 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB across 15.1 innings. The left-handed Holman will likely be in the mix for late-inning work again with the Nats in 2027 but likely won't guaranteed a role given his lack of MLB experience.

Tolman was charged with a blown save after allowing one run on three hits while striking out one over one-third of an inning in Saturday's 8-5 extra-innings win over the Cardinals.
Tolman entered the ninth with Washington protecting a 3-2 lead but couldn't close it out. Nathan Church opened the inning with a double before Pedro Pages singled him home to tie the game, and Tolman departed after allowing another single to Jose Fermin. The left-hander was ultimately charged with his second blown save of the season, though Washington recovered to win in 11 innings. This was the fourth time Tolman has given up runs in his 11 big-league outings in 2026. He has a 3.09 ERA with a 12:5 K:BB in 11.2 innings.

Tolman earned the save in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Phillies after tossing a scoreless ninth inning.
Tolman didn't record a strikeout, but he also didn't issue a hit nor a walk, needing only 13 pitches (eight strikes) to close out the win for Washington. He has logged three saves (in four chances) over his last six outings, and Tolman and Jack Sinclair both appear to be in the mix for save opportunities over the last couple of weeks of the regular season.

Tolman gave up a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Friday, recording his second save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Angels. He didn't strike out a batter.
The rookie southpaw wasn't sharp, tossing 15 of 25 pitches for strikes, but Tolman was able to escape with the save. He's been scored upon in three straight appearances but also has the Nationals' only two saves over the last month, and with Clayton Beeter jettisoned to Triple-A, Tolman is nominally the top option for the team in the bullpen. Expect Washington manager Blake Butera to continue auditioning new potential high-leverage options over the final weeks with his focus firmly on 2027.

Tolman struck out four in two clean innings to earn the save Monday against Miami.
Closer Clayton Beeter worked two innings for a hold Sunday against the Marlins, so he likely wasn't available for Monday's save opportunity. Tolman is making a case for more high-leverage work in Washington's much-maligned bullpen, firing 6.2 scoreless innings while posting a 0.75 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB to go with a save plus a hold apiece for the Nationals so far this season.

The Nationals selected Tolman's contract from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.
Tolman will be making his MLB debut when/if he gets into a game. The 27-year-old left-hander has posted a 5.23 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 42:23 K:BB across 31 innings out of the Rochester bullpen this season.
