  • The Tigers optioned De Jesus to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

De Jesus has been a decent bullpen option for Detroit this year with a 3.83 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 39:15 K:BB across 42.1 innings, though he's been a bit shakier over his past six outings with four earned runs allowed. Andrew Sears will take his spot in the bullpen and is poised to work in bulk relief Sunday against the Royals.

  • The Tigers activated De Jesus (personal) from the paternity leave list Wednesday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

De Jesus was away from the team for only one day while welcoming a new addition to the family. Yilber Diaz was sent down to Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding roster move.

  • Detroit placed De Jesus on the paternity list on Tuesday, per Evan Woodbery of MLive.com.

With the birth of his child on the way, the Tigers are placing De Jesus on paternity leave. The 29-year-old can spend up to three days on the paternity list, so he should be back with the Tigers by Friday's series opener versus the White Sox.

  • The Tigers recalled De Jesus from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

De Jesus has spent the last month in Triple-A, but he'll return to the majors in a move that corresponds with Brenan Hanifee being optioned to Toledo. De Jesus has appeared in 22 major-league games this season and has a 3.98 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 31.2 innings.

  • The Tigers optioned De Jesus to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

De Jesus hasn't given up a run in his past eight appearances (13 innings), but he'll still end up being the odd man out for a roster spot with Jack Flaherty (ankle) coming off the IL on Sunday. De Jesus should get another look in the majors before long given his recent form.

  • De Jesus pitched four scoreless innings of relief in Tuesday's 8-0 win over the Rays. He didn't allow any hits or walks while striking out four to record his first career save.

Jack Flaherty started the game with five scoreless innings of his own to finally earn his first win of the year, but De Jesus still looked excellent in his longest outing of the season, and he needed only 35 pitches to complete the shutout. The lefty lowered his ERA nearly a whole run from 5.91 down to 4.97, and he's up to 25 strikeouts across 25.1 innings. De Jesus could earn more opportunities in a long-relief role due to his effectiveness Tuesday.
