The Dodgers recalled Alfonzo from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
With Dalton Rushing (elbow) landing on the injured list, Alfonzo will join the major-league club for the second time this season. Alfonzo appeared in 12 games during his previous stint with the Dodgers, slashing .185/.185/.259 across 27 plate appearances. He will serve as the No. 3 catcher behind Will Smith and Hunter Feduccia.

The Dodgers optioned Alfonzo to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
Alfonzo and Chuckie Robinson will be replaced on the Dodgers' active roster by new acquisitions Hunter Feduccia and Ben Rortvedt. Alfonzo went just 5-for-27 during his time with Los Angeles and is likely to spend the rest of the season as a depth piece at Oklahoma City.

The Dodgers selected Alfonzo's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.
Alfonzo has thrived with OKC this season, slashing .313/.392/.422 with one home run, 16 RBI and a 22:17 BB:K over 49 games. He's thus getting his first look in the majors, and he's expected to serve as the backup behind the plate to Dalton Rushing while Will Smith (neck) remains on the IL. Chuckie Robinson, who had been working as the backup catcher, was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

The move has not been officially made, but the expectation is that Alfonzo will take Chuckie Robinson's spot on the Dodgers' 26 man roster prior to Saturday's game against the Padres, with the former serving as the team's backup catcher behind Dalton Rushing. His first appearance for the Dodgers will officially mark his major-league debut.

Alfonzo agreed to a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Monday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Alfonzo spent the majority of his 2025 campaign in the Tigers' organization, appearing in 57 games for Double-A Erie and eight for Triple-A Toledo. He slashed .247/.297/.322 with one home run, 34 RBI and 24 runs scored in 65 appearances across the two levels.
