  • Jansen underwent surgery Wednesday to remove a bone growth from his right hand, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

It's a minor operation that's not expected to affect Jansen's offseason workouts. Jansen slashed .203/.296/.381 with eight home runs over 67 games for the Rangers this season. As things stand currently, the 31-year-old Jansen seems likely to open the 2027 campaign as the Rangers' top catcher.

  • Jansen went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 10-5 win over the Mariners.

Jansen helped put the game out of reach with a three-run homer in the fifth inning to extend Texas' lead to 9-3. Since returning from the injured list Aug. 18, the catcher is batting .206 with three home runs, one double and eight RBI over 12 games.

  • Jansen went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 11-7 loss against the White Sox.

Jansen took Anthony Kay deep for a two-run homer in the fifth inning before adding an RBI double one frame later. The two extra-base hits were his first knocks since returning from the injured list after he failed to reach base in his first 10 plate appearances following his activation. Jansen has struggled offensively overall this season, batting just .169 with a .590 OPS, four homers, seven doubles, one triple, 15 RBI, 13 runs and one stolen base across 46 games.

  • Jansen is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Since coming off the 60-day injured list last Tuesday, Jansen has yet to start consecutive games behind the plate. Jansen -- who has posted a career-worst .548 OPS over 152 plate appearances on the season -- looks like he could be part of a three-headed timeshare at catcher with Elias Diaz and Logan O'Hoppe.

  • Jansen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Jansen made his return from the 60-day injured list and picked up his first start for the Rangers since June 1 in Tuesday's 5-0 win, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts while playing nine innings behind the dish. The 31-year-old will likely see the majority of the starts at catcher now that he's healthy again, but he'll give way to Elias Diaz on Wednesday.

  • Jansen went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Nationals.

Jansen played his first game since being activated from the 60-day injured list. He'd been out since the beginning of June due to a forearm injury. He's expected to serve as the team's primary starter behind the dish, although a .165/.269/.299 slash line limits his fantasy appeal.
