  • Sanchez didn't factor in the decision in Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series in Atlanta on Wednesday. He gave up three runs on six hits with six strikeouts and five walks over 6.2 innings.

The left-hander locked in with five scoreless innings after giving up a run in the opening frame, but he then ran into trouble in the seventh. Sanchez surrendered two runs on two walks, a double, a sacrifice bunt and a sacrifice fly in that inning, though the two-bagger was a bit of a misplay by Bryce Harper in right field. Regardless, the 29-year-old hurler certainly wasn't at his best Wednesday as he tied a season high with five free passes. Sanchez would likely take the ball in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Dodgers next week, if the Phillies can get past Atlanta.

  • Sanchez (18-7) took the loss against the Rays on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out 10 across seven innings.

Sanchez gave up a run in each of the first two innings of Friday's start before settling in to keep the Rays off the board over the next five frames. He finished his start strongly with seven consecutive strikeouts from the fifth through seventh innings, but he did not get enough run support from his Phillies to avoid the loss. It was the sixth time this season that Sanchez recorded 10-plus strikeouts, but Friday was the first time he took the loss in the process. He's tied with Sonny Gray for most wins in the majors, with Sanchez finishing the regular season with a 2.72 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 149:46 K:BB over 169 innings. Sanchez figures to be the Phillies' top rotation option for the playoffs, assuming the team qualifies.

  • Sanchez (18-6) earned the win Sunday over the Mets, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks across 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

It was a nice return to form for Sanchez, who had given up 11 runs across 12.1 innings in his previous two outings. The southpaw blanked the Mets for five innings Sunday before giving up a solo home run to Bo Bichette in the sixth. Overall, Sanchez sports a 2.93 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP and a career-high 221 strikeouts across 32 starts (200 innings) this year. Sanchez is currently in line for one more regular-season start, tentatively scheduled to come next weekend at home against the Rays.

  • Sanchez (17-6) took the loss against the Nationals on Tuesday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five across 6.1 innings.

Sanchez was looking to bounce back from his last outing this past Wednesday against the Astros, when he gave up six runs but still came away with the win. However, he gave up two runs in the first inning before yielding a solo homer to Andres Chaparro in the fifth to tie the game up at 3-3. Sanchez was still in line for the quality start after getting through six innings, but he was brought back out for the seventh and was tagged for two more runs after Jonathan Bowlan gave up a three-run homer to Daylen Lile. Sanchez has allowed at least three runs in four of his last five outings, and he now sits at a 2.93 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 193.2 innings. He's tentatively slated to face the Mets on the road this weekend in what figures to be Sanchez's penultimate start of the regular season.

  • Sanchez (17-5) earned the win against the Astros on Wednesday, allowing six runs on 10 hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out three.

It was a rare dud by the All-Star southpaw, who gave up his most runs since July 6 in Kansas City. It was also a surprise to see Sanchez serve up a pair of home runs after he gave up just two in his prior nine outings combined, but he's now worked at least five frames in all but one of his 30 starts on the year. He'll take an excellent 2.79 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 210:42 K:BB over 187.1 innings into his next scheduled appearance in Washington.

  • Sanchez (16-5) took the loss against Atlanta on Friday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five across six innings.

Sanchez put the Phillies on the back foot early by allowing three runs in the second inning. He kept Atlanta off the board the rest of the way and secured a second straight quality start, but he didn't get quite enough run support from his Phillies teammates to avoid the loss, and his five punchouts were his fewest since July 6 against the Royals (one). Sanchez will take a 2.58 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 181.1 innings into his next start, which lines up for next week at home against the Astros.
