  • Carroll underwent surgery Thursday to remove loose bodies in his right elbow, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Carroll dealt with a bit of elbow discomfort during the regular season, but the issue was never serious enough to warrant a trip to the IL. His symptoms began to worsen shortly after the regular season ended, so he chose to treat the issue with surgery. The 26-year-old is hopeful to resume swinging a bat sometime in early December.

  • Carroll batted fifth and went 0-for-2 with a walk and an RBI in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Yankees.

Carroll tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. One game after he was slotted in as the seventh batter, manager Torey Lovullo moved the outfielder back up to fifth in the order. A recent slump prompted the manager to drop Carroll from the upper third of the order to fifth and then a one-day sentence to seventh. He's batting .192 with a .637 OPS during September.

  • Carroll batted seventh in Friday's game agaisnt the Yankees because of a recent slump, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Carroll, who had a double and a two-run home run in a 9-2 loss to New York, entered the contest batting .147 (10-for-68) with a 32.4 strikeout percentage over the previous 19 games. "Corbin's grinding right now. We all know it," manager Torey Lovullo said."Just give him a chance to catch his breath down there, take a little pressure off of him." Carroll hadn't hit lower than fifth this season and never started a game below third in 2025. It's unclear how long Lovullo will keep Carroll this low in the order, but the Diamondbacks are a better team with him in the upper half.
