  • Wilcox left Thursday's game versus the Tigers due to left oblique tightness.

Wilcox came on in relief with one out in the top of the seventh. He gave up three earned runs on a homer after allowing two singles. Given the nature of the injury, it can be expected that the right-hander will land on the injured list.

  • The Mariners recalled Wilcox from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Wilcox was sent down to Triple-A in early May and has since turned in a 5.03 ERA and 1.30 WHIP alongside a 24:6 K:BB over 19.2 innings. Despite his subpar performance, he'll return to the big leagues to replace Josh Simpson and add a fresh arm to the Mariners' bullpen.

  • Wilcox was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Wilcox put together a pair of scoreless appearances to begin May, but it wasn't enough to maintain his spot on the big-league roster. He's put together a 5.40 ERA and 2.17 WHIP with a 15:12 K:BB across 13.1 frames so far this season. Josh Simpson was recalled in a corresponding move.

  • Wilcox threw 1.1 innings and gave up one run on three hits and two walks with one strikeout Monday in the 11-4 loss to the Twins.

Wilcox has now surrendered at least one run in his last four appearances on the mound. The right-hander has been used to pitch multiple innings in five out of his nine appearances this year in more low-leverage situations.
