  • Heuer cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Heuer ended the 2026 campaign in Triple-A before being designated for assignment. Rather than elect free agency, the veteran hurler has chosen to remain in Baltimore's organization. Heuer didn't pitch for the Orioles' big-league squad last year after being acquired in a trade with Milwaukee in early August. All of his MLB appearances in 2026 came with Cleveland, and he posted a 4.66 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB across 9.2 innings in his eight outings.

  • The Orioles optioned Heuer to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

With Baltimore recalled Cade Povich to make Friday's start against Milwaukee, Heuer will head back to Norfolk. The right-hander didn't enter a game over four days with Baltimore during his latest stint in the majors.

  • The Orioles recalled Heuer from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Heuer was acquired from Milwaukee for cash last month after he was dealt from Cleveland to the Brewers just three days prior. The right-hander posted a 4.66 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB across 9.2 innings of relief with the Guardians this season.

  • The Orioles acquired Heuer from the Brewers for cash considerations Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

Heuer has been traded twice since Saturday, after the Brewers initially acquired him from the Guardians over the weekend. He'll report to Norfolk but could eventually get a chance in Baltimore. The righty reliever has allowed five runs with a 6:5 K:BB over 9.2 frames in the majors this season.

  • The Guardians traded Heuer and Bo Naylor to the Brewers on Saturday in exchange for Craig Yoho and Blake Perkins, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Heuer has made eight appearances in the majors this season, coughing up five earned runs across 9.2 innings while striking out six batters and walking five. He's been a bit more effective at Triple-A, pitching to a 3.46 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 26 frames. He will begin his tenure with his new organization at Triple-A Nashville but should be near the top of the list of names primed for a promotion once Milwaukee needs a fresh bullpen arm.

  • The Guardians optioned Heuer to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday.

Heuer pitched 1.2 shutout innings during Game 1 of Saturday's twin bill, but he'll now be sent down to the minors so the Guardians can add a fresh arm to their bullpen in the form of Will Dion. Heuer now owns a 4.66 ERA through 9.2 frames with Cleveland this season and could return to the big club later this year as bullpen depth.
