  • Yelich is out of the lineup for Game 1 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Sunday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Yelich started all four games versus San Diego during the NLDS, including the series opener versus lefty Robbie Ray, but the veteran slugger will hit the bench Sunday with ace southpaw Tarik Skubal taking the mound for Los Angeles. Yelich was a key piece of Milwaukee's offense versus the Padres -- going 5-for-14 with a double, two steals, one RBI and two runs -- and the Brewers may need him to deliver similar numbers to make the World Series. The 34-year-old will likely make an appearance off the bench Sunday once the Dodgers go to their bullpen.

  • Yelich is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Philadelphia.

Yelich cranked his 12th home run of the season in Wednesday's win over the Phillies, but he'll take a seat during Thursday's series finale. William Contreras is slotting in at designated hitter for the Brewers, and Gary Sanchez will do the catching.

  • Yelich is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates.

Yelich will get a break for the matinee contest after he started in each of Milwaukee's prior four games. Gary Sanchez will step in for Yelich as Milwaukee's designated hitter and will bat fifth.

  • Yelich went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Cubs.

Yelich has two homers over nine contests in September, and they've both come against the Cubs. The 34-year-old went deep off Kevin Gausman in the first inning of Wednesday's contest, giving the Brewers a hot start. Yelich is now batting .241 with a .712 OPS, 11 homers, 53 RBI, 62 runs scored, 23 doubles, two triples and 11 stolen bases over 106 contests on the year.

  • Yelich went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Cubs.

Yelich took Daniel Palencia deep for a two-run homer in the sixth inning, capping Milwaukee's four-run frame. The 34-year-old has begun to heat up at the plate, going 10-for-27 (.370) with five extra-base hits over his last eight games. Despite the recent surge, Yelich's overall production remains underwhelming with a .238/.319/.388 slash line, 10 homers, 22 doubles, two triples, 49 RBI, 57 runs and 11 steals across 98 games.

  • Yelich went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Friday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.

Yelich doubled home Jake Bauers in the first inning to give Milwaukee an early 2-0 advantage, and Yelich later added singles in the sixth and seventh innings. This was Yelich's sixth three-hit performance of the season and first since July 7. Even though his overall numbers have been down this season, the veteran outfielder has been seeing the ball well of late. He's hit safely in all but one of his last eight games while slashing .393/.438/.607 with a homer, three doubles, seven RBI, five runs scored and a 3:3 BB:K over that stretch.
