  • The Mariners declined Miller's $6.075 million club option for 2027 on Thursday.

Miller remains under team control through 2029, but the Mariners expect to be able to lock him in at a cheaper cost for 2027 via the arbitration process. The 28-year-old right-hander had an up-and-down 2026 campaign, finishing with a 4.17 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 119:38 K:BB across 118.2 innings.

  • Miller (4-10) allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings to take the loss Friday versus the Angels.

Miller had a decent start going through five innings before Christian Moore tagged him for a three-run home run in the sixth. Miller's campaign was a tale of two halves -- he had a 1.71 ERA over his first nine outings, but he went winless (0-8) over his last 13 games, posting a 6.14 ERA across 66 innings in that span. It shakes out as a 4.17 ERA overall, along with a 1.16 WHIP and 119:38 K:BB across 118.2 innings through 22 games (21 starts). The silver linings were Miller improving his strikeout, walk and home run rates from last year while staying healthy after opening the year with an oblique strain.

  • Miller didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Rockies after allowing an unearned run on four hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings.

Miller delivered a much-needed bounce-back performance, holding Colorado without an earned run after entering Saturday with a 6.52 ERA over 10 starts since the All-Star break. Despite the inflated ERA, Miller seems to be ending the regular season on a high note, as he's given up two or fewer earned runs in three of his past four starts. It remains to be seen if he'll make another start before the end of the regular season.

  • Miller did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits, five walks and a hit-by-pitch over five innings against the Athletics. He struck out five.

After allowing a pair of solo homers in the first inning, Miller was able to work four scoreless frames the rest of the way, though his control was poor. The right-hander has stumbled of late, going 0-4 with a 7.29 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 32:21 K:BB over his past seven outings spanning 33.1 innings. On the year, Miller owns a 4-9 record with a 4.19 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 106:34 K:BB across 107.1 innings (20 appearances). His next start is tentatively lined up for next weekend on the road against the Rockies.

  • Miller (4-9) took the loss Tuesday, surrendering four runs on four hits and three walks over 3.2 innings against Texas. He struck out six.

The right-hander was scored upon in three of the four frames he pitched as he remains without a win in his past 10 outings. Miller has a 6.89 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 39:24 K:BB across 49.2 innings during that span and has also failed to last five frames in any of his past four starts. A road matchup versus the A's at hitter-friendly Sacramento is likely on tap for his next turn through the rotation.
