  • Young (9-6) took the loss against the Yankees in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader, allowing one run on two hits and three walks with six strikeouts over five innings.

Young opened with four scoreless frames before allowing a run on a double in the fifth, throwing 46 of 82 pitches for strikes with 14 whiffs. It was a tough-luck loss for the 28-year-old, who last earned a win Aug. 11 despite yielding two earned runs or fewer in five of eight subsequent starts. He'll finish the campaign with a 3.56 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 133:61 K:BB across 156.2 innings.

  • Young (9-5) allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out nine over six innings to take the loss versus the Brewers on Sunday.

Young had a decent performance, but he didn't get any run support. The nine strikeouts were a season high for the right-hander, who continues to produce mostly good outings despite being winless over his last seven games. He's at a 3.62 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 127:58 K:BB through 151.2 innings over 27 starts this season. He's projected to wrap up his campaign with a road matchup against the Yankees.

  • Young allowed one run on five hits and five walks while striking out six batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Monday.

Young struggled with his control, throwing just 59 of 106 pitches for strikes and issuing a season-high five free passes. However, none of the batters he walked came around to score, as the only run he gave up came on an A.J. Ewing solo homer. Young's wildness did prevent him from going deep into the game, but this performance was a vast improvement over the six-run, 3.2-inning dud he posted in his previous start. The right-hander is projected to next take the mound at home against Milwaukee.

  • Young (9-4) took the loss Tuesday, surrendering six runs on eight hits and two walks over 3.2 innings as the Orioles fell 9-5 to the Guardians.

The big blow was a three-run blast by Travis Bazzana in the second inning. Young was lifted after 86 pitches (53 strikes) in his shortest start since May 17, and fatigue appears to be setting in -- Young's total of 157.1 innings combined between Triple-A and the majors this season is by far a career high, and it blows past the 91 combined innings he threw across all levels in 2025. Over his last eight trips to the mound, Young has served up 11 homers in 43 innings, leading to a 5.02 ERA with a 1.49 WHIP and 32:16 K:BB. He's set to make his next start on the road early next week against the Mets.

  • Young took a no-decision against the Red Sox on Thursday, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks in 6.2 innings. He struck out seven.

The right-hander was one out away from a second consecutive seven-inning start, but Isiah Kiner-Falefa singled on a groundball to tie up the game and send Young to the dugout. Young has been a dependable back-end rotation piece for the Orioles throughout 2026, yielding more than three earned runs just four times in 24 starts. He'll bring a 3.42 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 110:48 K:BB over 137 innings into his next scheduled outing versus Cleveland.
