  • Pfaadt (8-3) allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out seven over 7.2 innings to earn the win over the Padres on Friday.

Pfaadt put the Diamondbacks in a good spot for the rest of the weekend, sparing the bullpen with a long outing. He threw 71 of 106 pitches for strikes and earned the win to keep Arizona's playoff hopes alive, gaining ground on the Phillies after their loss to the Rays. Pfaadt had gone six starts without a win prior to Friday. He ends the regular season at a 3.77 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 94:32 K:BB across 136 innings over 29 games (19 starts), and he's pitched well enough to warrant a start in the wild-card round if Arizona makes the postseason.

  • Pfaadt didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Yankees after allowing one run on four hits and a walk while striking out three over 4.1 innings.

Pfaadt kept New York scoreless through four innings before running into a spot of trouble in the fifth. This was a much-needed bounce-back performance for the right-hander, who gave up six runs on 10 hits across 6.2 innings against the Rangers his last time out, capping a five-start stretch in which he'd posted a 5.74 ERA with a 23:5 K:BB across 31.1 innings. Pfaadt is scheduled to make his next start against the Padres on the road Friday.

  • Pfaadt (7-3) allowed six runs on 10 hits and a hit batsman while striking out seven and walking none over 6.2 innings, taking the loss versus the Rangers on Saturday.

Pfaadt again provided good length, but he wasn't able to collect a third straight quality start. He has given up 20 runs over 31.1 innings across his last five starts, going winless in that stretch. For the season, the right-hander is at a 3.77 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 84:29 K:BB through 124 innings over 27 games (17 starts). Pfaadt is projected to make his next start at home versus the Yankees.

  • Pfaadt allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against Houston on Saturday.

Pfaadt was behind 3-2 when he exited with one out in the seventh inning, but Arizona scored a run in the eighth to take him off the look for a loss. The right-hander finished with his second straight quality start and his seventh such effort across his past nine outings, a span during which he's posted a 2.47 ERA while going 3-1. Pfaadt will look to extend the strong stretch his next time out, which is projected to be a home tilt versus Texas.

  • Pfaadt (7-2) allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out one batter over six innings in a loss to Philadelphia on Monday.

Pfaadt didn't have his swing-and-stuff going, as he notched only five whiffs and one punchout. Nonetheless, he was able to keep the Phillies mostly in check en route to his eighth quality start of the campaign. Despite that achievement, Pfaadt saw his streak of 21 outings without a loss come to an end -- prior to Monday, his only other defeat came April 11 in his third appearance of the season. He'll try to start a new win streak the next time he takes the mound, which is lined up to be on the road in Houston.
