The Yankees optioned Hanner to the rookie-level Florida Complex League following Thursday's 6-4 victory over the Rays.
Hanner earned his first major-league win Thursday, allowing two hits without a walk or a strikeout over two scoreless innings. However, he still has an 8.59 ERA in five outings with the big club, and the Yankees need a fresh arm or two after Saturday's game against Baltimore was rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader Friday.

The Yankees recalled Hanner from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.
Hanner will return to the Bronx to replenish the Yankees' bullpen depth following Clarke Schmidt's (biceps) move to the IL. Although he boasts a 2.35 ERA in 57.1 frames at Triple-A, Hanner will almost certainly be limited to low-leverage work with the big club after giving up seven earned runs in 5.1 MLB innings.

Hanner gave up four earned runs in just 1.1 innings during his lone outing after coming up from the minors Friday, and he'll now move back to Triple-A in preparation for Clarke Schmidt's (elbow) return from the injured list Wednesday. Hanner boasts a 2.44 ERA across 55.1 innings at Triple-A this season but has allowed seven earned runs in 5.1 frames with the Yankees.
