  • The Brewers transferred Zerpa (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

This transaction has been inevitable since it was announced in early May that Zerpa required UCL reconstruction on his left elbow. The 26-year-old is expected to be sidelined until around the All-Star break in 2027.

  • Zerpa will undergo UCL reconstruction on his left elbow next week, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Zerpa went on the injured list last week, and after seeking multiple opinions, has made the decision to go under the knife. He will likely be sidelined until around midseason next year. Acquired from the Royals via trade over the offseason, Zerpa will finish the 2026 campaign with a 6.39 ERA and 8:6 K:BB over 12.2 innings. He'll be eligible for salary arbitration for a second time this winter.

  • Manager Pat Murphy said Sunday that Zerpa (forearm) is deciding whether or not to undergo Tommy John surgery, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The left-hander landed on the injured list Wednesday due to forearm tightness, and he could end up being out for the season and beyond. Even if Zerpa doesn't end up needing Tommy John surgery, he seems likely to be sidelined for multiple months.

  • The Brewers placed Zerpa on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to left forearm tightness, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

According to Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com, Zerpa's forearm injury was a factor in him being pulled in the middle of an inning during his most recent appearance against the Pirates on Saturday, when his velocity had noticeably dropped. Manager Pat Murphy told Rosiakl on Wednesday that Zerpa will undergo more testing and receive a second opinion on his injury, but the skipper is anticipating that the lefty reliever will be in line for a lengthy absence. Milwaukee called up southpaw Brian Fitzpatrick from Triple-A Nashville to take Zerpa's spot on the active roster and in the bullpen.

  • Zerpa (0-2) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the Pirates after allowing three runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk across two-thirds of an inning. He struck out one.

Zerpa entered for the 10th inning but never really found his footing, recording just two outs on 16 pitches (10 strikes). The left-hander has allowed runs in all but two of his last eight outings. Even though he's recorded two saves this year, Zerpa's 6.39 ERA and 1.74 WHIP through 12.2 innings taints any fantasy upside.

  • Zerpa earned the save Thursday against the Blue Jays, allowing one hit over a scoreless ninth inning.

Zerpa entered the ninth with a one-run lead and had to navigate around a leadoff single to Vladimir Guerrero, but he settled in to secure his second save of the season. Despite the clean inning, the southpaw's overall numbers remain inflated from a rough outing last week in which he allowed four runs, leaving him with a 5.40 ERA across 10 innings.
