Granillo cleared waivers Tuesday and was outrighted to Triple-A Toledo, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Granillo was DFA'd by the Tigers on Friday to make room on the 40-man roster for Max Clark, but the former will officially remain in the organization after passing through waivers. Granillo has given up 10 earned runs in 9.1 big-league innings this season and hasn't found much success in the minors either, logging a 6.88 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 35.1 Triple-A frames. Barring a drastic turnaround, he isn't likely to contribute for the big club this year.

The Tigers designated Granillo for assignment Friday.
By designating Granillo for assignment and placing Matt Vierling (groin) on the 10-day injured list, the Tigers opened up the necessary spots on the 26- and 40-man rosters for 21-year-old outfielder Max Clark, who will make his major-league debut Friday against the Athletics. Granillo was claimed off waivers by the Tigers on July 11 and allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two across 3.2 innings with Toledo.

The Tigers claimed Granillo off waivers from the Nationals on Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Toledo.
The 26-year-old was pushed off Washington's 40-man roster last Saturday to make room for Matt Krook, but Granillo will reclaim a 40-man spot in the Tigers organization. He's turned in an ugly 8.02 ERA and 1.66 WHIP through 33.2 innings at Triple-A this season, so he will likely have to turn things around at Toledo before getting a chance in the Tigers' bullpen.

The Nationals designated Granillo for assignment Saturday.
Granillo has failed to impress over eight appearances with Washington this season, posting a 9.64 ERA, 2.25 WHIP and 3:8 K:BB over 9.1 innings. He hasn't fared much better with Triple-A Rochester, registering an 8.02 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 32:16 K:BB across 33.2 frames spanning 26 appearances. Granillo will consequently yield his 40-man roster spot to Matt Krook, whom the Nationals claimed off waivers on Saturday.

The Nationals optioned Granillo to Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.
After giving up four earned runs over two innings in Tuesday's loss to Minnesota, Granillo now owns a 9.64 ERA and 2.25 WHIP over 9.1 major-league innings. He'll attempt to get back on track in Triple-A, though he has also struggled with the Red Wings (10 ER, 5.0 IP).

The Nationals recalled Granillo from Triple-A Rochester on Sunday.
The right-hander opened the campaign in Washington's bullpen but was demoted in early April after giving up six earned runs in his first five outings of the season. Granillo also struggled at Rochester with an 18.00 ERA and 6:6 K:BB over five innings, so he may not be up in the majors for long.
