Tuesday's major league schedule runs 15 games, and the one carrying the most weight starts at Progressive Field, where the White Sox and Guardians open a series with first place in the American League Central on the line. This column exists to set Verdexed's model probability beside the market's price and report the gap between them. Tuesday extends the recent run of days when that has not been possible: the verdexed.com prediction, edge, and accuracy pages are blocked from this publishing environment, and per-game win probabilities, confidence tiers, and edge figures were not retrievable through search either. There is no biggest edge to name today, and no probability printed below is the model's. What follows is a matchup and market read, published as model output and entertainment rather than betting advice, for readers 21 and older located where sports wagering is legal.

How to read this

A normal edition carries two numbers per game. The first is Verdexed's model probability, built from a weighted feature set per matchup and resolved through simulation, drawing on recent form, team strength, home-field advantage, rest, and in baseball the starting pitcher and the bullpen behind him. The second is the market's own probability, taken from current moneylines with the sportsbook's margin removed. The edge is the gap between the two, and Verdexed computes it from the model's independent opinion rather than a market-blended number, because comparing a market-blended probability back to the market would be circular. Only the market half was readable Tuesday. Verdexed logs every prediction before first pitch and scores it afterward on win accuracy and Brier score, where lower is better, but the trailing 30-day figures were not retrievable at publication, so no hit rate is cited here and none should be inferred. The standing caveat holds either way: a well-calibrated 60 percent side is meant to lose two games in five, and no edge is a guarantee.

The model's top edges today

There are none to publish. An edge requires a model probability and a market probability observed at the same moment, and Tuesday only the second was readable. A slate with genuinely thin edges and a slate whose edges could not be retrieved are different findings, and this is the second kind. Nothing below is a pick, a rated play, or a confidence tier.

Tuesday's board, matchup side only

**White Sox at Guardians, 6:40 p.m. ET, Progressive Field.** The reported records put Chicago at 76-73 and Cleveland at 76-74, which is a half-game separation at the top of the division, though secondary sources described the lead as anywhere from a half-game to a game and a half, so treat the exact gap as unsettled. Two sources list the probables as Foster Griffin for Cleveland, credited with a 15-5 record and a 3.65 ERA, against Davis Martin for Chicago at 9-7 with a 4.05 ERA. A separate preview of the same series named a different pairing, so both names here are projected rather than confirmed. One structural detail matters more than either arm: Chicago is reported to have already clinched the season series, which would carry the tiebreaker if the division finishes level. Cleveland is playing for two things at once, because it also holds a wild card position with Toronto reported about a game back.

**Yankees at Twins, 7:40 p.m. ET, Target Field.** New York clinched a postseason berth Monday when Toronto lost to Detroit, which changes the shape of the game more than the price does. Max Fried is listed against Bailey Ober, and one book had the Yankees near minus 166 with Minnesota around plus 140. A club that has already secured October and is now playing for seeding treats a bullpen differently than one that is not, and Minnesota has nothing left to chase.

**Phillies at Nationals, 6:45 p.m. ET.** Cristopher Sanchez is the projected starter for Philadelphia against Jackson Kent for Washington, with the Phillies reported near minus 215 and the Nationals around plus 180. That is one of the larger road prices on the board, and large road favorites in September against clubs out of contention are exactly the spots where a model and a market most often disagree, which is precisely the comparison unavailable today.

**The rest of the board.** Detroit at Toronto is reported with Drew Anderson against Braydon Fisher, Baltimore at the Mets with Shane Baz against Sean Manaea, and Miami at Arizona with Janson Junk against Michael Soroka, all listed probables rather than confirmed ones. The broader context is a league splitting in two. Tampa Bay, Milwaukee, Los Angeles, and now New York have clinched berths, while the Cubs, Phillies, and Padres hold the National League wild card spots with Arizona roughly two and a half games back. Clinched clubs and eliminated clubs both behave differently in the final two weeks, and that is a real handicapping factor even when it is not a priced one.

What could go wrong

Start with the starters. Every arm named above is a listed or projected probable rather than a confirmed one, and the Cleveland matchup in particular drew conflicting reports across sources, so a late change there would reshape the most consequential game on the board. September compounds the problem: rosters are expanded, so managers carry more relievers and have less reason to push a starter through the order a third time, and the four clubs that have already clinched will manage innings on arms they want healthy in October. The records and division gaps cited above were reported as of Monday and move with every result, so anyone reading this after first pitch is working from stale standings. The largest caveat remains the one at the top. With no model probabilities available, nothing here has been tested against a price, and a matchup read is not an edge.

Responsible play

**This is model output, not betting advice.** Verdexed publishes its model's probabilities and edges for informational and entertainment purposes only. Nothing here is a recommendation to place a wager, and no outcome is guaranteed, even the model's highest-confidence picks lose regularly.
