Major League Baseball plays its final Thursday of the 2026 regular season on September 24 with twelve games, four of them carrying clinch scenarios, and the one number this column exists to publish is missing again. Verdexed's per-game win probabilities, confidence tiers, and edge figures were not retrievable at publication: verdexed.com is blocked from this publishing environment, and the prediction, edge, and accuracy pages did not surface through search. There is no biggest edge to name today, and no probability below belongs to Verdexed's model. What follows is a matchup and market read, published as model output and entertainment rather than betting advice, for readers of legal betting age located where sports wagering is legal. The stakes are unusually concentrated: a berth can be clinched in Kansas City at 2:10 p.m. ET, hours before most of the board even starts.

How to read this

A normal edition of this column carries two numbers per game: Verdexed's model probability and the market's implied probability once the book's margin is stripped out, with the gap between them reported as the edge. Verdexed's published methodology describes a model that weighs sixteen or more features per game and simulates each matchup thousands of times, then blends its own probability with the de-vigged moneyline to produce the headline number, with a calibration curve fit on held-out games so that a stated 65 percent is meant to behave like a real 65 percent. Verdexed reports both win accuracy and Brier score, where lower is better, and publishes the running record. Those trailing figures were not retrievable at publication, so no hit rate is cited here and none should be inferred. Every price quoted below is a sportsbook number surfaced through search, and a price is a consensus opinion rather than a forecast. No edge is claimed today, and on the days one is, it is still not a guarantee.

The model's top edges today

None are claimed. Filling this section with an invented probability would defeat the purpose of having it. The games below are listed for their stakes, their pitching, and their prices. Every starter named is projected rather than confirmed, which on the season's final Thursday is a heavier caveat than usual.

Thursday's board, market side only

**White Sox at Royals, 2:10 p.m. ET, Kauffman Stadium.** The first clinch chance on the board. Chicago has been reported able to secure a postseason berth with a win here, or with a Texas loss in the early game. David Sandlin, listed at 2-2 with a 6.29 ERA, is the projected Chicago starter against Randy Dobnak, listed at 3-4 with a 3.08 ERA. The market has Chicago a modest road favorite near minus 130 with the total at 8.5.

**Mets at Rangers, 2:35 p.m. ET, Globe Life Field.** Texas has lost three straight and sits tied atop the American League West with Houston, both reported at 78-80 after Wednesday night. The Rangers have been quoted close to a pick, near minus 108. Neither starter was confirmable at publication, so none is named.

**Guardians at Red Sox, 6:45 p.m. ET, Fenway Park.** The American League Central turns on this one. Cleveland has been reported able to clinch a berth with a win, and the division margin over Chicago is a half game to a game with about six to play, though the exact records surfaced differently across sources here and none is asserted. Chicago is reported to hold the head-to-head tiebreaker after winning the season series, which means Cleveland has to finish ahead outright. Ranger Suarez, listed at 8-4 with a 3.27 ERA, is the projected Boston starter. Cleveland's starter was reported two different ways in the previews surfaced here, Joey Cantillo in one and Daniel Espino in another, so no name is asserted. Boston, already in the field, has been quoted a home favorite near minus 134.

**Astros at Athletics, Sacramento.** Houston opens the last series of its season needing to keep pace with Texas, and a Houston loss is one of the reported triggers for a Cleveland clinch. The pitching matchup was not confirmable at publication.

**Diamondbacks at Rockies, 3:10 p.m. ET, Coors Field.** Eduardo Rodriguez, listed at 15-7 with a 2.89 ERA, is the projected Arizona starter against Tanner Gordon, listed at 1-5 with a 6.01 ERA. Arizona has been quoted near minus 158. The pitching gap on paper is the widest on the board, and the ballpark is the reason to be careful with it.

**Cubs at Marlins, 2:20 p.m. ET, loanDepot Park.** Chicago is inside a National League wild card race reported as close to a three-way tie and has been quoted a heavy road favorite near minus 198. Matthew Boyd, listed at 9-5, is the projected Cubs starter against Tyler Phillips, listed at 5-6.

What could go wrong

Five of the twelve games start at 3:10 p.m. ET or earlier, so a clinch in one park can change how another club manages the next three hours. Every projected starter above can be pulled after three innings by a manager who has already decided the bullpen matters more than the box score, and eliminated clubs have every reason to hand innings to a September call-up whose major league sample is too short for any model to read. The Cleveland starter is genuinely in dispute across sources, which is an unusually large unknown for a division-deciding game. Bullpen usage from Wednesday, including a Houston extra-inning loss on a walk-off, is invisible in a Thursday moneyline. Records and clinch triggers above come from previews rather than a verified standings feed, and they disagreed in places. Weather is live at every park and lands on totals first, and Coors Field is on the schedule. The largest caveat remains the one at the top: with Verdexed's numbers unreadable, there is no independent opinion here to set against these prices.

Responsible play

**This is model output, not betting advice.** Verdexed publishes its model's probabilities and edges for informational and entertainment purposes only. Nothing here is a recommendation to place a wager, and no outcome is guaranteed, even the model's highest-confidence picks lose regularly.

**You must be of legal betting age in your jurisdiction** and located where sports wagering is legal to bet. Sports betting is not available everywhere; know and follow the laws where you are. Never bet more than you can afford to lose, and never chase losses.
